Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the '16 Tacomas? Trying to track down an electrical issue. Overhead console lights come on when I turn on the wipers every now and then.

No. But I'm the second owner and the PO did some wiring and i'm trying to track down what he did and see if that's part of the problem.

This is how he spliced a hard wired GoPro line into the moonroof power. Who just zip ties the wires together?? it's not hard to splice it correctly..

Disconnect that and see if your problem goes away before you do anything else. I've got the wiring diagrams on my home PC so if nobody replies before tonight I'll find it for you.

That'd be awesome if you could do that.

Thinking through it, I'm not sure why this would cause the switch to be over-ridden. The PO said he got power from the moon-roof which I'm guessing meant that he just found a hot wire (which may happen to be the overhead lights?) and ghetto spliced into it.

That splice photo is classic. Unbelievable. Not even a stitch of insulating tape. What else did he jury-rig on that truck?

It looks like it's going to rain this weekend so I'm taking the time off enduro to check that out... Can't wait to find what else!

He said he got a friend to do that for him. I think the rest of the stuff he did himself (really just wiring lights and a CB radio; the usual bro stuff) so I'll have to look and see what the deal is. He makes it look really clean on the outside but the wiring on the inside is a different story.

  I have seen some really dumb installs before... but that is up there with using duct tape to insulate a connection.

Apparently it's not as uncommon as you'd think. I talked to my boss about it (since he headed the electronics on an Indy car team) and he said he's seen it a lot..
