Close but there is nothing can compare to a screaming rotor engine. Reminds me of an R/C plane or car. Just not nearly as fast.

    I did a thing.

Ever since installing the bed rack and CVT the truck has been in "adventure mode." I don't mind that so much when I'm just driving around (though - it'd be nice to not haul around the extra weight all the time), but it does make me nervous to park it unattended/unsecured overnight. As such, I've been trying to come up with a plan to remove the rack and RTT (ideally at the same time), and store them.

Here's how: Garage Hoist - Winter Weight Loss for the Truck

Sweet can't wait to go through the walkthrough. I'm in the same predicament with my topper and bed rack.

FYI: the ceiling fan was probably used to help evaporate moisture and control excessive humidity (melted snow, rain, etc) that falls off the vehicle and collects in a tiny garage.

    Changed the oil,
    Side question:

These are the tranny mounts, right?
    6E5EBBD1-FF4B-4FAE-B623-A5D1479991E4.jpg

Are they supposed to be rigid or is it ok if they have a little movement?

    Yes my truck is dirty.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
They're supposed to move a bit, just old rubber. You can replace them if you want to stiffen it up a bit.

Got bored today with some left over bed liner. Decided to copy this little rock-shield thing from a 1986 pick up. The part was removed from the pick up and placed over my tacoma and traced with a sharpie :) pretty happy with the retro touch it gives it!

    Thanks!

Could be, but dunno. I think the previous owners might have used it as a shop. And folks here are a bit sensitive to heat. Every summer we have maybe 5 days where AC would be nice, and tons of folks get AC installed in their house.

I'm less worried about someone walking off with the RTT and more worried about someone opening/defacing it. Lot's of college kids around. Pushing over honeybuckets, that kind of thing...

My guess is that we're more similar than you think. Well, except you're a lot younger.

Holy shit finally caught up after vacation. Going to dive back on some quotes:

Did you physically see oil blowing out when you turned the locker on? Or just notice gear oil all over your frame/uca's etc. I know almost everyone I know who regeared the front on these trucks have been noticing seepage from the breather, me included. And I was hoping it's not what you are experiencing and I don't need my seals replaced. How long on the 5.29's and front locker?

I gotta stalk your build, going this route like you, @Squeaky Penguin and @Speedytech7 is likely the route I will go too. Also really dig the side exit exhaust.

I fixed that issue by adding a resister to each rear turn signal. But you're probably onto something with the trailer harness, the turn signal comes on with the headlights when it has been raining.

Leftover bedliner is dangerous...I had half a can left over from doing my sliders and next thing I knew, I bedlined my rear bumper, fenders, mirrors, and wheels.

Looks good especially on the fenders for the later 1st gens that get notoriously faded over the years.

My 94 pickup had that plastic piece there, and it reminds me of that!

Also put it in neutral and make sure you that it's not in 4-wheele drive when you check. If not there could be a bind on your drive line that makes the U-joints seem tight when the really aren't.
