There's some interesting regional things with truck sales too. When I visit my parents over the holidays back in Indiana, it's pretty damn rare to see another Tacoma anywhere. Like, enough so that I notice when I do. Otherwise it's all 'big 3' - not even Tundras. And it's always been that way. Some parts of the country 'buy American', reliability or anything else be damned. The thing is when you start talking about reliability and such, are you talking about major repairs or just still in service? Because we've had a lot of Ford and GM, and not one of them has gone past 120k without something major, but you routinely hear of 'foreign' stuff going to 200k or more just fine. And then you throw age into it, and yeah, a lot of newer stuff isn't proving to be as reliable, or they're heading downhill or maybe someone else is improving. How much of that is actually the company vs just the increased complexity of systems, many of which were legislated into being, like thefatkid was saying about the diesel?

You need to read this statement in the mirror, pull up your panties, and go trade your worthless Toyota in on any one the "American brands" made in other countries. Until you do, you are simply spouting out a bunch of whiny complaints about how much your hate Toyota's and how horrible they are and that's not "progress" that's just "sitting idle". I frankly don't give a shit. My Toyota's have been awesome to me and they have been fun to drive. Plain and simple. That's what TACOMAWORLD is all about. Not a bitch session for every piece of engineering that you feel is bad about Toyota. Damn you must lead a horribly negative life.

    Yeap I am a hater.

It's like that in northern NY. I drove back east this summer, and it's still very much the big 3, in nearly any vehicle type. Sure there's the odd Camry or Accord sprinkled in, but it was quite rare to see another Tacoma. In fact, before I went out, I was looking for a tonneau or cap for my road trip that I mainly needed for my return drive. I searched the NNY CL, and there was 1 ad for "parts" for Tacoma, and 3 trucks for sale, of any year. When I bought the Taco, the options were a 10 year old design Taco or a 10 year old design Frontier, with the GM twins a couple of months away. I figure overall, my truck is a pretty basic machine and should easily last as long as I want to keep it, whether it's another few months or another 10 years has yet to be determined.

Not at all because the product isn't copy in any way. Different materials, different design aspects, and the end product is on a different level.

I am just sick and tired of your whiny BS about how much you hate Toyota yet you not only owned one, but went back and bought another. That is ignorance at it's finest.

    Fuck off

Anyone who even thinks insurance fraud is a smart idea or works out in their benefit is a fucking retard.

I lost $6k ish because of cheap seat heaters and learned my lesson. And I'm sick of assholes insinuating that I'm stupid enough to do such a thing.

No need to check with me just put your money where you mouth is. If every other brand out there is so much better then go buy the better product instead of drowning in misery over how stupid this is or how poorly designed that is. OMG the gas mileage sucks! Its just sad.

It's been running pretty not bad, got a couple issues to fix and then work on the bumper once my lights get here to model everything up.

FYI Insain fab can definitely get it done for you!
