Yeah, but then I nerf the truck. It's kind of damned if I do and damned if I don't. Even if I put a selectable locker in it, I'd still have the same issues since it usually breaks shit when I'd be using the locker anyway. Someone needs to make affordable chromo cv axles for 1st gens. That way I can start destroying ring and pinions. Either that or I need to hit the lottery so I can afford to throw enough money at Todd he'd be willing to SAS it.

Thanks man! So getting up to 194 is normal? I’ve read 200 is like optimal temp but I just want to make sure I’m not over heating hha. Need this engine to last 300k miles

 

I'm pretty sure overheating would be around 230*. Antifreeze and pressure might raise the boiling point of your coolant a bit, but when you hit 230* it's best to shut it down before damage occurs.

 

My ‘14 V6 would climb to 194*, but wouldn’t stay there long. It averaged around 186*. 265/75/16 Tars, with 2.5 Fox’s On all four corners.

 

Right on man yea I average around 192 when on the gas on the highway haha. Maybe I’m being a little extreme? Never gone past 194 though even floored on the highway haha

 

Sounds like all is well. I’ve actually had mud daubers build a nest on the inside of my radiator! Lol.

 

Haha well I had some over heating issues recently after a mudding trip. Mud got caked on the radiator and dryer and was restricting air flow.3 hours from home and Had to have Toyota in Naples remove my radiator and flush it and hose it off hahaH. Since then Ive monitored it like a hawk.

 

Yeah it’s important to keep an eye on it. Make sure the over flow tank is full to the mark, and when its cold it wouldn’t hurt to check that the radiator is full being you just had it worked on.

 

Both are things I’ve done already. Oil is clean. And readily fluid is aswell so I think I’m just being overly cautious
