Added a garage door push button and hidden remote to my overhead panel.

    Finished image first:

Step 1: Lower the overhead panel (was able to do it without tools) and remove the center blank. (Note that the passenger side area is much more difficult to use than it would appear).

Step 2: Drill a hole the size of your push button switch in the correct location of the center removable panel (easy to see where when you are looking at the assembly). Could easily fit two buttons if you have two doors.

Step 3: Wire up a garage door opener that you have already programmed to a momentary push button switch. Check the circuit board for which legs to use, almost certainly will be diagonal from each other. I went an extra step and added a simple two wire barrel connection for easy install and removal if ever needed.

Step 4: I notched the plastic housing of the remote for the wire to get out and reassembled (left battery door off). I added strong Velcro to the back.

Step 5: Stick the remote up into the opening out of the way. Connect the wires, reinsert the center panel, and push the overhead unit back into place.

I highly recommend 3M Adhesive Remover available from a body shop/paint supplier to remove just about anything for anyone looking to debadge. It took dried highway marking paint off my other truck that got kicked up. Zero harm to paint/clear coat and minimal residue. It's what body shops use. Great for tar removal as well.

No, chlorine to wipe off blood and prints off the "tools".
    Shovel can substitute chloroform.
