There's a good write up on here of how to do the tranny flush yourself. Can use whatever fluid you want. I did it using a walmart garden sprayer and it took my dad and I an hour total from start to finish. Save yourself a load of money too.

    EDIT: Here's the link: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diy-full-flush-for-automatic-transmission.68462/

Yes you could do it in stock Tacoma. And only One switchback is sketchy. Just go slow and its nothing difficult.
They have tour trucks carrying people in the bed down Black bear pass using full size dodge trucks.

Chris Murphy Automotive in Dallas should do it. I use bg additive in my oil since they turned me on to it.

Thanks - yeah I saw that, I may do it myself but I also have a lot more I'm going to be doing so was trying to pay for some while doing other things myself.

Thank you I'll give them a call. Didn't see transmission services on their website though.

4x2 just means full throttle and hope nothing breaks. I might be getting a 4x4 this weekend though

They do it all. They are not the cheapest around but I don't have any complaints with the work. Tell them David at Big D Bolt sent you, they may take it easier on you. Or charge you more. 50/50 shot

I saw one with a bunch of jeeps and the didnt mention anything about bypasses or anything so I wasnt sure, looks like a bad ass trip though. Im gonna look at the maps on Gaia later and see what I can figure out about Imogene and the Alpine loop.

@trekker and I did it last year. Had one switchback that required a spotter - but it wasn't too bad (take with a grain of salt - I was riding passenger)

Awesome views though - great experience!

ya I will be doing them all not set on a date though. You could maybe get away with Imogene but I don't know about Engineer which is part of the Alpine Loop, I used 4x4 and it was a little more technical than the internet says. It is doable I am sure but idk if I could have done the whole thing in 2wd. Would suck for you to get there and not be able to do it or get stuck on the mountain somewhere lol

Ive been restoring my boat, attending family functions, and job hunting. Lol. Finally getting ready to order something for the truck even though it's probably getting replaced with a Pro in a few months.
