Im worried about breaking my cap strap- (hey! CAPSTRAP) - so I just let it dangle too, but I do worry about getting it dirty if I’m not careful where I put it.:D

How about this? Still good if the strap breaks.

Or there is the tried and true method that worked for me for many years...Simply place the cap on the side of the bed, forget it and drive off, stuff a shop rag in it.

Damn the cap! Did you dent the side of the car like someone did on my wife’s Honda when they drove off with the filler nozzle still in place? :anonymous: The same person also ran over my Gen 1 gas cap after they put it on top of the tire and drove away without putting it back.

Lets call it a BICH (Bolt In Cap Holder), exactly what we all say when we open that door and realise that it's not there son of a "BICH" or every time it falls from its perch on the supplied factory tab son of a "BICH" or when you bend the pin from the cord getting hung up and now the door doesn't close properly son of a "BICH"
Also it the acronym of what Stew call it in the title of this thread. :D

I don't want to shoot this idea down, but there are options. Maybe it can stir up more ideas.
