    H9 is a high beam only bulb. The mechanical portion is what is pictured above. It just cuts the beam off for low and opens for full blast on high.

    So @bfogelma and I did the install in his truck tonight. They look damn good! I’m sure he’ll get around to posting some pics but here is the shot we got after. So much light, can’t see the light bars but still a sweet shot!!

    How long have you had these headlights on ? I’m wanting to buy some but I’m curious if I am going to have issues with them like my current headlights have . Any issues ?

    Has anyone in here (not headlight builders or people familiar with this) attempted to make their own retrofit with OEM headlights? Is it really that hard, assuming you're good at working on stuff in general? I will have my old lights, and I don't want to sell them. I see all of the parts available online. It would be pretty awesome if I could slowly build my own set.

    Did the install with @schecter517 last night- loving the new headlights so far!
    Light output is way better than stock off the bat, and they were actually fairly easy to aim/align.

    Looking forward to posting more of a long-term review later on!

    Can you remove the plug where the side marker pig tail would plug into? I noticed after I installed mine that there isn't a bulb in there but the plug is there so I'm wondering what inside. My guess is that it's just an empty port. Not sure why they would have the pig tail on there, maybe so the wire isn't just hanging but I thought that was a little odd...the 05-11 lights have an LED chip on the side built in so I'm wondering why these weren't made the same way. Oh well.

    I didn't find anything on TacomaBeast's site. Maybe Pro Tuning Lab has something but I doubt it.

    Mine have a plug where the side marker bulb would sit. The wires for that go to the LED strip. The LED strip only comes on with parking lights I believe. DRL mode is the amber lights like it is now.
