I really wish it was an option for you too Ian. But keep looking having the right vet makes all the difference in the world. Maybe not so much for annual checkups and routine stuff. But in the end it sure does.

So the first vet the Ex wife took the Toller to they ended up muzzling him, I wasn't there. Shocked me he never has had a problem with people and loved everyone. She gave me a bunch of paperwork about neutering and they said that would solve his "problem". I doubt they knew what a Toller is let alone how rare they are. Next.

The second was actually one of the VCA affiliate clinics. The family dog was a rescue Springer beagle mix and heavy. They said she had a thyroid problem and put her on $100 a month prescription. She didn't have a medical problem except for the same thing the Ex had. She was eating more than she was shitting. I regulated her food intake and the Ex kept giving her more kibble and feeding her table scraps. Stayed with them to keep peace and paid the $100 a month for a couple of years, LuLu lived to be 17. By the time she passed over the Rainbow bridge she was as wide as she was long. Loved her too and she loved to chase the bunnies.

When the Ex left the boys and I is when I ended up searching for a decent vet. And found one. The time came to put Sniper down and of course I fell apart. The Vet tech and Vet struggled to not cry also. Then a couple of days later got this in the mail with a note inside. Have kept it on the fridge and the only thing I keep on the fridge. After thinking about your question figured it was time to scan it so I have a backup copy. The original is going back on the fridge.

Keep looking for a good Vet Ian. And give Riley a hug for me.

One thing I forgot to mention was when your pup is in his crate, especially at night, it helps to keep the crate nearby so he can smell you. You can move the crate a bit every few days until you get it where you want it.

Had a bit of a scare with pepper. Found a grape sized lump on his back (away from his spine) turns out it's just a cyst so the vet said it's no big deal and no need for surgical removal. Had to give him some grown up lunchables (ham and Turkey only) since he did a good job while we were there lol

Very proud of him today. Crated him from 9am-11am then 4pm-730pm while I had to leave the house. Zero whining and zero potty problems. Got a camera to stream and it’s sound activated. Dude did well.

Thanks......flint had been on deposit months before he was born.......and then after birth the breeder determined he was going to be a long coat so the original depositor backed out of the contract and we just got lucky... The DDR is an interesting breed and some people don't like long coats ....we do!

Pic is flint (far right at 9 or 10 months) - his dad Aero Von Hena-c (far left) and mom (middle). Great healthy East German lines.

Lol, I’ve been having to use wipes on my little dude since I brought him him. He’s been having soft stools and leaves a little mess on his toosh. I allow him on furniture and inside.

Keep his diet as consistent as possible. If you let loose stool go on too long, he'll develop anal gland issues. If you're feeding him from the table, I would stop.

He doesn’t get people food. I don’t want a dog that begs and everyone around him isn’t allowed to feed him anything. His loose stool started after his last set of shots on Tuesday. Prior to that they were fine, the vet said it would be a side affect.

But I feed him taste of the wild puppy food salmon blend and I mix some sweet potatoes in with every meal for fiber.

I'm the same way. My last dog didn't have as much as a cheerio in 14 years.

He'll probably get over it soon. But if it continues, I'd probably try to do just dry dog food, just to rule it out.

Mix in some cooked white rice...that'll help solidify things up again. My girl gets it mixed in with her chow when things get greasy...She gets about a 12 ounce serving of her normal food and like a normal snowball size of rice mixed into it. two meals of that should help your little fellas tummy get back to normal.
