I traded my 16 Sport 2wd in August 17 with 12k on it and ended up getting $600 more than I paid brand new. Resale on these Tacoma's is unreal.

Not trying to be an ass but will this perception last forever? I can say with confidence that these 3rd gens are no longer the simple, dependable, bullet-proof, Taliban-tested, Top Gear-proven little 1980s trucks that Toyota has built a name on.

They are weird, clunky, complicated, uncomfortable and poorly tuned. How is this going to translate into the used market 3-5 years later?

If they gave you more on a 'Trade In' than you paid then i am sure they made it up on the price of the new one.

Same thing they said about the 2nd gens on first few years.
Same thing they said about the 1st gen Tacomas coming from Hilux.

I bought a 1984 4runner SR5 new. Sales said they would be discontinued in 1986. No market for them...

While what you said is partially true, what does our competition look like?
We look pretty good when you say it that way lol.

    This is really fake news.

In actuality it’s cause no tacoma owner in their right mind would ever sell their truck.

aires 3D mats, scan gauge II, rear differential breather relocation, and bakflip G2 bed cover.
I got offered $29,500 trade in for my 2015 offroad 4x4. $9000 difference on a 2018 off road. I've had it exactly 3 years with 22K miles on it.

Normally, I'd agree with you but the sales manager over the Auto group is an old family friend. Sticker on my TRDOR Was 40, was OTD at 38. Helps that My family has bought several cars through him.

The 0% financing they are offering is next going to help the resale market.

I just saw a TV advertisement for Tacoma's, it was a $500 Rebate plus either 0% or 0.9% Financing.

I did not pay serious attention to the commercial but it was probably for 2017s.

What people will pay for a used Tacoma... or any 4wd, blows my mind. I went all set to buy used, but the prices were stupid.
