Bought a used Glock 19 for a good price. Took it over to the Glock factory in Smyrna, GA (about a half hour ride for me) and asked them to look it over. Twenty five minutes later, the armorer handed it back to me with all new internal components and a new magazine. No charge. Can't beat that for customer service.

I'll put my POF ARs up against anything in the same class that Ze Germans have ever made.

I love my HKs but let's not be silly here.

My Sig M400 enhanced has not once malfunctioned on me in over 5,000 rounds. Has been used and abused, dropped on the Acog and still kept zero at 200yards. I almost thought about not cleaning it to see when it would stop but I’m not an idiot.

I also have a few little guns from Austria that run better than any American made polymer or steel gun I’ve ever handled. But as far as I’m concerned if it comes from Germany, Czech Republic or Austria it’s probably rock solid.

We don’t get all the small label BS makers from those countries like we do here in the states. I’m not familiar with Patriot Ordinance factory. I would consider a cheap Aero precision for a truck gun but I’ll pass on American made firearms.

I will however be purchasing a PTR-91. But that’s a German design built on original HK manufacturing equipment and a complete beast of a rifle.

Good luck with your POF though. You probably saved a lot more money than me.

    IDPA I shoot expert :brianr:

I’ve shot a lot of guns and a lot of rounds And my douchey opinion is American manufacturers just don’t really have the edge any more. But I know for a fact This douche would out shoot your goofy ass

Picked up a couple of metal ammo boxes yesterday and I am planning on filling one with 9mm. How many rounds can ya'll get in these? I'm wondering if I should buy 50 round boxes or 100 round boxes, which fit better?

I've heard when you do it that way, you can't keep up with the lot numbers of the ammo in case something goes wrong. Maybe I worry too much about stuff like that.

If that were the case, counting rounds would be the least of your concerns, lol. But, if you're worried about it, fold the boxes flat and save them. They take up almost zero room that way, and if things went sideways you could always put the boxes back together and redistribute the rounds back into the boxes for inventory purposes.

What competitions were they, out of curiosity?
I like some of the German guns, but can't afford most of them so I'll have to stick with dropping deer and punching holes with the sloppy American designs for now.

I've looked at several bulk ammo sites and I'm not seeing the "great deals" I mean if you break down the per box after shipping, its not much difference in buying ammo locally. Unless I'm not looking in the right places. Also, what about these off brands like Magtech are they any good?

I shoot various sporting clay competitions. Bobby Fowler Jr. was in one of them (Guy is a beast). Anywhere from local to state or charity. I've been sponsored a more than a few times to shoot representing a company. I also shoot IDPA which is a worldwide thing. I compete in the CCP & SSP divisions. I usually have 0-3 downs when I run em which helps with my time.

One or two practice rounds of IDPA will make you a better pistol shooter hands down. That type of training is a lot better than standing and shooting a non moving paper target.

That being said, not all American made weapons are crap or sloppy. ie the Springfield M1a. (granted I hear it's picky on ammo) Also the Ruger GP100 is a tank of a revolver. Nothing quite compares with it. I just prefer the German's heart for efficiency. (Look at how the Corvette has been aiming to beat the Porsche for years and still hasn't even with over 100hp on the ZR1 it couldn't.) Or even the IWI Tavor X95 or The FN Famas. Just a better design.
