Haha, it’s my uncles old 5, and I dropped a big wrench on it when I was changing my leaf springs or something.

Didn’t break the screen just bent the shit out of it. I can take a picture if needed.

 

So no biggie. Easy enough to change out. I've had to do it twice now. A part of doing business IMO.

 

Yeah, I'm gonna make a run up to Camelback Toyota tomorrow and I'll change it out. Just need a seal puller I guess, think I have everything else. Do you happen to have the front seal part number? The one most people list on the 4Runner forum doesn't cross reference to any numbers on the very detail lacking page that Camelback provides.

You might want to verify those numbers with Gunny in case they are different for your '96 as this is for my '02. @gunny1005

 

Spent money on things that are probably not needed because that's what we do.

 

Replacing my headlights and updating my old head unit to a double din with Apple car play/backup cam just made my old truck feel new again.

 

@gunny1005 If you do happen to know the part number for the front driveshaft output seal for a 4cyl, manual trans, j-shift case, that would be most appreciated, need to fix this asap it's leaking a lot

The rope guard or the hook itself? I like my flatlink but the rope guard always seemed like it would hinder movement.

Original stock stereo. I'll admit I haven't checked the Stereo fuse yet - but the climate control is what I'm concerned about. The blower motor doesn't work - the AC button lights up and turns on but nothing happens.

When I press the AC button I can't hear the compressor kick on so maybe it didn't work to begin with. The cable that adjusts the air mode selector is also messed up - the knob doesn't turn right.

 

Well the blower has its own fuse, so probably worth a check. Reverse jumping messes shit up, usually a lot of fuses need replacement.

 

I do remember trying to test those things when I test drove it originally from the seller, and they both still were non-functional.

Still, could be the fuse. I should probably check those. If it's not the fuse - maybe it could be the blower motor resistor?

 

Yeah, but typically full speed will still work if it is the resistor. The switch itself can get burnt contacts from high amperage that occurs from corrosion.
