I did. I think I have the opposite problem you had. I am going to get a measurement and I'll put Wilwood billet spacers on. This should fix it, I hope. I have a new caliper coming from NAPA in the morning. I'll try it then and let you know. Thanks!

Do what? Put on Tundra calipers and rotors? This swap gives you 13WL calipers which are 231mm versus 199mm stock. The rotors are thicker, from 7/8ths to 1 3/32nd, and the stopping power is greatly increased (from what I am told - but it seems logical). I had the 13WL calipers on my shelf. It also allowed me to ditch my worn-out stock pads/rotors/calipers.

You can spend a few grand for a TRD big brake kit, if you can find it, but the Tundra swap is pretty easy. I think my issue is minor and will be fixed soon. It's a common swap on 4Runners too, so there is lots of info. Last, but not least, the Tundra rotor clears the bottom nut on my new Total Chaos LCAs without grinding when it is flexed to the very top. The TRD big brake kits do not. I'd rather not grind on my $2,000 LCAs.

I'm confused as well, Tundra brakes don't fit 2nd gens, that swap is for 1st gens only to my knowledge. The only swap you can do for 2nd gens is 4runner/gx470 brakes. The 4runner/gx470 calipers are the same size as stock but are made to sit higher to accommodate the larger (13.3in I believe) and wider rotors of the 4runner/gx470. If I'm not mistaken Tundra brake swaps are a no go for 2nd gen trucks, maybe that's why you're having these alignment issues.

I'm pretty sure you have the wrong calipers and rotors, 13WL, which you said you've installed are not the right calipers to do the 2nd gen brake upgrade. Those would be 13WH.
Maybe I can point you in the right direction, this is a good read (and should be a sticky)
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...t-oem-parts-part-s-provided-installed.443656/
Looks like you purchased items to do a brake upgrade for a 1st gen tacoma using the WL calipers.
Been wanting to do the WH upgrade for quite some time, and I've read a lot about the different upgrade options. I think you just made a mistake and bought the wrong stuff. Not trying to call you out either, just informing.

Very true, hopefully op gets these to work. Kind of an important part of the vehicle.

Now I am really confused! That link says that there are differences between 13WL and the 13WG in pad size etc. Other sites say no. "I have found that shops don't distinguish between 13WL and 13WG." The only difference I can find between the two is that if you want to run hard line you need the WL as the WG comes in at a different angle and the nipple will interfere. *shrug*

I'm going to take my butt to NAPA and get a WH caliper, if they have one. At this point I'm ready to get my truck back. If it works it looks like the pads are the same but the rotors are different? Either way I will know what really works. Thanks PapaBear! I don't take offense at all to being informed. I had the 13WLs on my shelf from 2013 (brand new) so I thought why not. So I'm not out much to go to a WH.

    You have 17" wheels? I believe 16" won't fit.

I do. 17" Konig Six Shooters. NAPA didn't have any WH calipers, so I am going to try some machine bushings to space the caliper back. It's worth a shot while I do more research.

I tried two machine bushings. Too far back. I tried one, a bit too far forward. I had some grade 8 washers sitting on the tray of parts, so I thought why not! I don't want to jump to any conclusions yet, but it looks to be aligned properly. I can turn the rotor without issue, and there is no play in the caliper. Wilwood caliper spacers look like grade 8 washers anyway, so could this actually be a fix?

If you’re doing what I think you’re doing, would you mind doing a write up with pictures of install because actually upgrading the piston bore size is a huge improvement for 2nd gens rather than just upgrading to the WH calipers which feel better over stock but have no real world improvement over stock calipers. If you’ve gotten tundra calipers to work on 2nd gens, then I’m all in to testing this as well vs what my plan was which is 6 piston wilwood kit soon.

There is no reason you can't use steel washers. Aftermarket brake kits come with steel shims to align everything, which are basically tight tolerance washers of varying thickness. Looks good!

Based on what I've learned in this thread, the GX460 calipers might be a perfect fit on 2nd gens. I think they have the largest bore (48mm) and largest diameter rotor (324mm).

I had to space them the opposite way @FRSpilot had to space his WL calipers to get them to fit on my 1st gen correctly, which the WL calipers bolt right up to....

Maybe I missed it in this thread....but are the brake rotors a larger diameter with these calipers? Also, hows the initial "bite" on this setup? With 34" tires the initial bite of the brakes is almost non-existent anymore. I have to use pressure to get these things to clamp. Hoping this setup would fix that.

There are people who make brackets to do 2nd gen tundra calipers on 2nd gen tacos. Source: I have a pair.
