2010 Turd Off Road Auto. This truck is not my daily driver. Only used for off road camping trips (what the cool hipster kids call "Overlanding" or some bullshit like that), Rock crawling, and hunting. The end goal of the truck will be a full blown SAS 4 link front and rear truck on 1 tons, Marlin Crawler box, bobbed with custom built bed (due to fuel take relocation to bed to clear 4 link rear). But all of that is a few years down the road when I am back in one place (Traveling back and forth between states for work) and can put the truck in the garage, tear it apart and dedicate the time to it.. Plus I still need more $$$$ to fund this POS truck.

Yes - dumping more money into the truck suspension and axles knowing I am going to 4 link the front and rear may be a waste of money. But before all that happens, I am still using the truck and want to maximize the most out of a mid-travel truck. Besides, all builds are a money sink hole. We will never get the money out that we put it so what does it really matter?

It turned out good. The size was perfect and a really good solution for adding more switches. I’ve swapped a few of them out so they are actually labeled for what they actually do. Just lost one of many cup holders.

Yeah it’s the larger one. 5.56 cfpm. It does a really good job airing up the 35’s from 13 psi to 38 in a little over 2 min per tire. It’s just big.

Just sliders and you’ll be fine! Lol. I did make it up eventually. Ended up have to winch it over that step but then after that it cruised right up.

Here is where I ordered it from https://www.autopartswarehouse.com/...2010/Base/6_Cyl_4-dot-0L/AC1181073401340.html

They shipped it in two days of ordering... however, UPS has lost it and cannot seem to locate a big ass box... So I can't speak to the quality yet, but compared to $600 from the dealer, I am willing to risk $180

I thought so as well. I was real proud of that until I added up the cost of the switch pannel, bluesea fuse block, Relays, wire, and two full days a wiring (I get a little OCD), comes out to about $175 bucks. when you can get a SPod (http://www.4x4spod.com/product_p/700-mod.htm) for $370. You can wire up a spod in an hour or so. super easy and to much easier that adding relays when you add more items down the road. I'd go with a Spod module if i were to do it again.

Dang! thats fairly cheap for all that included... Even though I a fan of the physical feel of a rocker switch, I might save up for a switchpros unit.

Trip Report: The Needles District - Canyonlands National Park 2/2 - 2/4/2018

Left Los Angles Thursday afternoon to drive out and meet @tetten in Moab to head out Friday morning. When I made it to Cedar City, UT, I stopped in to grab groceries and refuel. While refueling, I was looking over the truck and noticed that my bedside sheet metal tore all the way up to the tail light. This was caused by not having any bedside supports from cutting for 35's. The wind was making it flap back and forth and finally fatigued it enough to cause it to tear. My younger brother lives there while attending SUU. I ran over to his apartment and chopped off the bedside and built up some quick temporary bedside supports to prevent more tearing. This wasn't a big deal because I have a HC clearance rear bumper on order.

    IMG_2804[1].jpg IMG_2800[1].jpg IMG_2802[1].jpg

After that it was smooth sailing up to Moab. Rolled in there at 2 AM.

Friday morning @tetten and I rolled out through Kane Road out of Moab. We took took Lockhart Basin all the way down to the highway that takes you to the Needles District Visitor Center. This trail was gorgeous. runs long the edge of the canyon edges over the river with incredible views. Nothing too hard, mostly 2wd over a rocky-ish trail with one climb in 4 low at the beginning of Lockhart Basin trail. once you get to the basin it turns into a fire road and can open up the throttle and cover some miles pretty quick. I got a little excited to actually pick up speed down the dirt road. start up over a little rise as I grabbed 3rd gear only to see a washout in the road a head. slammed the brakes hard to slow down. the truck bottomed out so hard that a water bottle from the back cup holder flew out and hit the windshield. This is where I later found out I bent a inner tie rod.
    DSC_2470.jpg DSC_2475.jpg DSC_2476.jpg DSC_2478.jpg DSC_2483.jpg DSC_2485.jpg DSC_2490.jpg DSC_2500.jpg DSC_2494.jpg DSC_2501.jpg DSC_2516.jpg

After running through Lockhart basin, hit the highway and check in at the Needles visitor center and then headed over to Elephant Hill. the trail was awesome fun. good climbs and switchbacks up and over. I didn't like that on the switch backs, they added some asphalt and concrete in the trail. Wish it wasn't there to make it more interesting but still fun. Awesome trails in the whole area. that are tons of fun. We were the only trucks in the area the whole time we were there so we had the run of the place to ourselves. The sun was going down as we got there which made for some cool pictures. We ran the quick loop through the area and then back out to camp just outside Elephant Hill where my other brother was going to meet up with us there for Saturday and Sunday.DSC_2521.jpg DSC_2527.jpg DSC_2528.jpg DSC_2529.jpg DSC_2531.jpg DSC_2535.jpg DSC_2538.jpg DSC_2553.jpg DSC_2555.jpg DSC_2556.jpg DSC_2559.jpg DSC_2565.jpg DSC_2573.jpg DSC_2576.jpg DSC_2578.jpg DSC_2581.jpg DSC_2584.jpg DSC_2585.jpg DSC_2588.jpg DSC_2595.jpg DSC_2598.jpg DSC_2600.jpg DSC_2607.jpg DSC_2610.jpg DSC_2615.jpg DSC_2629.jpg DSC_2631.jpg DSC_2639.jpg DSC_2640.jpg DSC_2654.jpg DSC_2667.jpg

That pretty much covered all of Saturday wheeling through the Needles District Trails. Satruday night we camped just outside of the Needles area back on BLM land so we could enjoy a fire for Satruday night. The Needles area does not allow fires at the campsites at all. Dumb... but rules are rules. So we cruised outta there and set up camp. Had a great time with the place to ourselves. Looking forward to the next big trip in April on the other side of the park in the Maze District. @Mike likes Tacos..... just tagging you so you know what you missed out on.

Two more pictures of Russ hilariously drunk and his pissing rock.
