Looks like that boot is made in Canada, by the writing on it..!!

Looks like a short box issue with the boot....minor scraping on the driveshaft for the long box.

Do you have this skid plate on your truck?
Or does anyone else have it for that matter?
It says it comes on the “off road” package.

No, I do not have that skid plate.... I assume that is on the bottom of the gas tank, right..?

I've got the side shield between the gas tank and the driveshaft....I think they all have that one...!

I have one from a offroad In my garage to go on my sr5. I need to pill the gas tank straps and drill holes to be able to add bolts for mounting.

Yes it goes on the bottom of the gas tank. I would like to see a real life picture of one.

Yes that flimsy side plate we all have comes with all of them. That thing is worthless.

That would be awesome if you could post a picture of the plate.

I wonder if something wrapped around the shaft and took out the shield and clip? Plastic bag or cardboard box or something else you ran over then it fell off?

Sorry to hear of your troubles with this, but thanks for the heads up.

My off road 2017 came with it. Looks like it would help hold the bottom of the aluminum shield in place a little better (see my phoyo post above).

I think it was just from road vibration.
Could be from driving through a snow storm then some ice got on that shield. Either way a plastic clip is not going to last in that location.

I was thinking yours prob had it but I couldn’t really see much of it from your photo. Just a little bit of the corner.

Yeah- heavy ice could have done it if it was freezing up on there from splatter.

Ok- getting dark so WYSIWYG - the bottom edge of the shield is protected and held in place more or less by the plastic (yes, plastic) gas tank “shield”. My Gen (edit: 1) had a heavy metal shield :(

So that’s $200 for a extra PLASTIC shield!? Crazy.
When you say gen 3 did you mean your gen 2? Had the metal plate.

Edit: oops! My Gen 1 (2002 4x4) had a metal tank and metal tank shield.

I would like to find and aftermarket one that is made out of a stronger rubber. This one is made of a hard plastic.
But it took me forever to find the part number just for this one.
