I’m most excited about the MT. I would have been fine with the auto, but couldn’t resist the opportunity to get back into a manual again. My first vehicle was a 1978 Toyota truck - 20R, 4 speed, long bed. Toughest vehicle I ever owned!

You cannot get an Off Road Manual in the Access Cab, you have to go with a Sport to get that combo.

Thats why I've got the auto, but I awkwardly double down shift every 15 seconds driving through rush hour in relatively flat St. Louis, Missouri. Its not cool.

I down sized from a 2005 Ram 2500 Quad Cab Long Bed 4x4 5.7L V8 with a ranch hand front and rear replacement (added around two feet to the truck if not more). I don't miss it for daily driving or being in the city. Sometimes I miss it when it comes to packing people into the truck or I miss it when needing to help someone move or do a big project. Sounds like you got both of best worlds by keeping the SD.

No Prob. When you're ready to trade in that DCSB, you can ask for a TRD Sport ACLB 6MT.

If the bed is too short, remember the MT pulls like a beast. I tow with mine quite often.

Welcome! I came back to Tacomas from my 2001 F250. I miss the torque but not the size.

Good choice in the M/T for sure.

How much wheel time did you get test driving before ordering the beast?

I had a 2010 tundra crewmax rock warrior that I loved, but things changed and I traded it for my wife a highlander, miss that truck every day. Bought a 99 superduty 6spd work truck 7.3 diesel cause I wanted a diesel, sold it at year later sucked driving it 90 miles a day to and from work. So I had my choice between my SR taco dcsb v6 4x4 or tundra sr5 dc 5.7 4x4, would have loved the tundra but the 20mpg i get in the taco, made it the correct choice, yea it shifts a lot but I bought it to be a 4x4 truck that gets decent gas mileage, any other reason id have the tundra.

The DCSB works just fine.... We went on a bunch of trips with just a soft tonneau. We did get a topper though.... rack and windoors are awesome. Not sure I want another truck without.

Check my build thread...too much to list.
I don’t think you could fit your family in the access cab. Pretty sure the back just has two seats. Welcome to TW. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the truck.

That's how it is all up and down the great plains. I'd I'd venture to guess half the guys driving them don't need trucks that big.

I did. Went from my f250 to my TRD off road taco. Don't regret it.

Check out a softoper, I love mine and got a rack that goes over it.

If you take the kids hiking, you will run out of room in the access cab, that's the reason I trade my 09 5 speed wth only 58k miles.

Center console divider thingy, rubber bed mat and side steps for the wife.
I went from a 2003 7.3 diesel Super Duty CC 4x4 to my sport.. If we had any thought of getting another RV or boat I would have kept it. As it is though, I love being able to park it anywhere including parking structures etc.
So far, have not missed it in the least.

Is zero a good amount of time? :) No manuals to test drive here - just autos.
