I have a soft spot for EVO's, but I'm afraid it'd cost me too much to insure and I'm not super confident in high mileage ones. I'd hate to blow one up... :(

My dad's got a Fiat 124 Spyder and it's pretty nimble, but I want that boxer engine. Ideally, I'd swap out the headers for some unequal lengths and get a nice catback a fulfill my wrx dreams without having to worry about a turbo... But theres a chance I may end up getting a WRX or Turbo Forrester instead.

you mean equal length? they already come unequal plus youd be downgrading performance going to an unequal.

i do like some FXT cars though

ahhh ok makes much more sense now... yea when you own a car out right and only cover basic liability there is a dramatic drop in yearly rates..

Or really? I was under the impression that they put the equal in now a-days for that reason. I'd be downgrading the performance intentionally for the rumble. haha

same price as i do. i wouldnt want to only have liability on something like an evo personally though. ive had a car stolen.
maybe they do, i assumed they were unequal. almost all factory manifolds are. a quick google showed frz/brz is close to equal but not fully.

That’s understandable. Insurance should b reasonable since the 8’s and 9’s r older now but I can’t say that for sure. But yeah high mileage is a tough one to overcome. I was lucky in that I bought both of mine with low mileage and mods. But whatever vehicle u end up with in the end will probably b a good buy as long as u take your time and research. Good to get lots of feedback to give u ideas though. Best of luck man! Let us know what u get!

the only reason I don't have collision is cause if anything happened I could just fix the car my self would really only have to pay for parts and paint supplies threw my shop. if I wasn't a tech by trade I would 100 percent get full coverage lol.

FRS/BRZ come with equal length stock, as does the 15+ WRX, but not the STI. Swapping to unequal lengths is pretty dumb, IMO. I much prefer the sound of my STI with an equal length header, plus the car makes way more torque with it.

The WRX really is the much better overall car than the FRS/BRZ. The performance (or lack thereof) really isn't worth the trade-off vs the WRX, when you can take the 2015+ WRXs to 400whp on the stock block and still have a useable backseat and 4WD.

Honestly, pretty much this. I can grab a used auto frs/brz/86 with real gears vs some used wrx with a rubbery CVT that the kid before me tried to drift every winter. Less money, don't have to worry about a turbo burning oil, and I get real rear wheel drive with real gears.
