this is a cross post from the 3rd gen discussion. I ordered from OEMpartworld and was delivered 3 days later for $602 to my door. installed today in my 2011 DCLB. I have cbi plate bumper with swingout, bed rack over bestop and RTT. I paired it with the Wheeler's 5 leaf pack I got just under 2 inches upfront and about 1.5 in the rear. At first I was level and then realized I'd weighed the rear down an extra 200 lbs when I put the entire original suspension in the bed. For those without constant weight like me, this paired with an add a leaf is solid choice for those looking to keep their lift in the 2 inch max range. I suspect mine will settle in the 1.75 range.

Mine resulted in a much smoother ride with far better small and large bump compliance and substantially less body roll. It is a noticeable difference from stock. I'm quite surprised with the rear thinking the Wheelers 5 leaf pack with the thick leaves would be too stiff.

    Happy hunting

5100's are a smaller less effective shock.. less oil plus extra spring compression = less overall performance... Having two trucks running both of these currently I would Never own 5100's again!

Just pulled the plug and ordered the kit. Crossing my fingers that they ship out and not get cancelled due to being sold out.

Good information...I have a shell and probably carry 50lbs of gear constantly so 250lbs of additional weight as my daily driver. I'm going to attempt the AAL, but if it doesn't turn out well I will be looking into the wheelers Spring pack.

Yea but I would have to pay them to compress the spring and move the perch to even it out for a pavement queen T4R might as well save the cash. If they came already equal I would just install myself and be done.

Just buy a 1/4 top spacer and put it on the other side. Problem solved.

I’m calling a shop this morning to see how much they will charge to compress and move the perch and if it’s just a few bucks then I’ll order a kit

You get any vibe issues with the wheelers 5leafpack installed? I'm thinking about going this route on the rear of mine, with the leer shell my stock leaves sit on overload all the time. Was thinking AAL but not sure if its a solid choice for constant weight on them like the camper shell adds.

no vibes. actually had a minor "stock" vibe at highway cruising speeds pre install. I replaced all 4 corners, so no way what change made the vibe go away. with my constant weight, I'm only lifted 1-1.5 inch.

I have a DCLB and ARE shell...I picked up an almost brand new leaf pack off of a 2018 Pro, I'll be using these with the AAL, as I'm assuming my stock leafs already have some sag at 34kmi...

I figured since I'm doing an AAL a fresh leaf pack couldn't hurt either. It's an option, it might help. You can find take off parts everywhere for cheap.

I have a 2014 DCLB with a snugtop camper on it. I do keep some stuff in the back but it does get loaded down when I move across country twice a year. Question is when I install the TRD Pro suspension will the front be sitting higher than the back? If so what do you recommend using to correct this? I drive a lot on the highway so a smooth ride is important to me. Thanks for the input

That's a good idea. Since you have a shell I would recommend leaving the overload in place with the AAL.

    Yes.

A new leaf pack or a 3 leaf AAL. With shell I'd recommend leaving factory overload in place, but it's your call.

How will that effect the ride? And what 3 leaf AAL do you recommend?

an add a leaf with the overload left in may be a good solution. it would work for 90% of the driving you do.

The 3 leaf, progressive AAL's ride great. Any brand is good. Wheeler's Offroad, Icon, etc.

Leaving the overload in will net maybe 1/2" extra height but you'll be better equipped to handle the extra weight of your shell. After a few years with my AAL's, overload removed, I've lost an inch of rear height. I also sag more in the rear under loads or towing. If I had a shell on my truck right now, my front would be sitting higher than the rear. I'm running the TRD Baja suspension.

Seeing as you load up and cross county twice a year, maybe consider better rear bump stops. Wheeler's are well priced, or you could go with Timbren. Leaving the stock one's in won't hurt anything either.
