I just ordered my sliders from C4, so the wait has begun!

In the meantime, I'd like to figure out what the best way to coat these will be. I've heard both powder coat and Line-X being used. What are the pros and cons of each? Is there another coating option I should consider?

    Thanks guys!

    Too few to list.
If I had to choose between the two options, I'd go powder coat so I can spray can re-touch when scratched. Line-X is durable but I've seen posts stating that they come off in chunks when scraped across rocks.

If you wheel, nothing will survive scraping on rocks. Other than that i say choose what looks good and is cheap
I use Rust-Oleum and chassis paint.

Self etching primer and quality spray. Mine has held up through salt, etc now for about 8 mos and it's easy to touch up when needed.

why people powder coat and line X armor is beyond me! If you wheel that it is. I cleaned the oil off really good...primed and did rustoleum hammered. Did awesome. You'll still get small dings on gravel and mountain roads, but I won't cry since I didn't spend a fortune on special coating.

Right. This makes a lot of sense. My thought was to powder coat initially and touch up with rustoleum as needed.

I still have a month to hem and haw!

I wouldn't spend the extra money on it...I thought about it too when I got my rock sliders, but we do a lot of mountain roads and rocks....I put what I was going to spend on powder coat towards skids. I touch them up once a year in the Spring.

Has anyone used rattle can bed liner? I'm thinking about a cheap way to get a textured, durable coating.

Great to hear. I just got in on the SOS 20% off tax sale for some sliders and an IFS skid. I've got a bit of a wait ahead of me but planning things out right now. Thinking basic rustoleum for the skid and bed liner spray for the sliders.

It's my daily so the wheeling will be mild, but I figured I'd rather have sliders than N-Fab bars and the IFS seems like a good idea regardless, since the stock skid i pretty thin. I imagine you're saying the finish will get scratched up like crazy, which I'm fine with. Kind of why I'm leaning towards something in a rattle can, so that I can easily touch it up.

If you intend to use them, don't waste money on powder coating...it will get scraped off and damaged. I initially just rattle canned mine black, which is really easy to touch up when you have to. Recently I used some leftover bed liner coating on them and it looks great, is a bit more durable and just as easy to touch up.

Spray paint and keep extra cans around.

My brother spent money on powdercoating his sliders and they look just like mine do after using them. Only difference? He spend X amount of dollars more than me to end up in the same place.

Rattle can black with some self etching primer. Wheel, have fun and touch up as needed.
