Yeah I did it all in about an hour and a half. I didn’t have an issue with the door latches. Just make sure you snap them all the way in. I tested all mine before I shut the doors. The adapters are the only part I had a problem with. My screw holes didn’t line up right.

How long did you let it cure before installing the speakers? Haha. Good to hear I’ve seen some say it takes an hour a door so who knows. Prepare for the worst like sh*tting the doors and hope for the best.

For me next came the sub and once you wire the sub amp you might as well just stick a 4 channel amp down there and then I'm like lets get a sound processor and then...

I have seen it said it can be done both ways... In my opinion it can't. To do a clean job and not mess anything up remove the A-Pillar its a 10mm bolt and an extra 2 min of work. Note be delicate when you remove it because there are air bags behind it, and make sure you disconnect the negative terminal of the battery before you start. You don't need an airbag to the face.

You are correct. A-pillar covers must be removed to keep from breaking stuff. Ask me how I know.... broke both sides. Luckily epoxy works wonders.

I don't think I can afford this site.... Or my Tacoma at the rate I am going. As of yesterday I am 100% done on the speaker installs, lagged on the back install. Now I am browsing Amps............. To Be Continued....... BTW it sounds great without it, but maybe it will sound greater with it? Logic...

Would you all say the bass increased, stayed the same, of is less than the stock speakers?

I would say that’s it’s definitely not less bass than stock and perhaps a bit more depending on the music being played. IMO the biggest difference is the “quality” of the bass and mids.....it’s less muddy/boomy than stock. So it may be the cleaner aspect of the sound that gives me the perception of more bass.

Do a sub and amp. I am in love with the stereo system in this thing after all of it.

6.5s (that I said I didn't need after installing the 6.9s that I said I didn't need after switching out the tweeters) are going in tonight! I've heard the rear doors are somewhat of a headache. I'm pretty sure the tweetes and 6.9s couldn't have been easier so I was bound to hit some type of bump. Got them at Best Buy and the mounting adapters/connector that they had on file as needed were not the same as the OP. They gave me 82-6600 for the adapter and 72-8104 for the connector. Looks like folks have installed (or accidentally linked) the 6-3/4 though so I could be off. Thoughts? Am I good to go?

When you order speakers, they show up as a "free" option, as I recall.

Finally installed speakers, CLD tiles in door with foam on top. Reinstalling the doors was a gigantic pain in the ass. Even still, the top two trim pieces refuse to stay in. Am going to look at industrial strength velcro to keep these jokers in there.
