so I went to use the rear seats for some IT equipment and thought hey, I can put the headrests in the rear seat holes.

But nope. Only the middle one fit. The stalks on the rear headrests were huge. Even thicker than the front headrests. The holes for storage were meant for the thinner stalks.

Pic below. This is on an 18.

Had the same issue today on my 16. Middle slid in easy. Two side ones I basically had to beat in. Took awhile but finally got them in.

I thought I had this problem on my '17. As much as I told myself not to force it, I did. Start with just one-side and push down, it should slide in with a little force, then push on the other side of the headrest and it'll slide all the way in

that's nuts. I might hold off and run it by the dealer. I still find it odd the rear stalks are so much thicker vs even the front head rest stalks. i tested the middle head rest in the left/right and it slid in fine. I really think it's a manufacturing screw up.

Had the same problem on my 17 sport, however, once yo force them in once the next time the head rest will go in easier. Also rotate the headrest to the opposite direction than when it is normally, in other words facing into the back.

    Like this.

Otherwise the headrest will not go in as deep.
    Note the gap and angle

    I hope this helps!!

If I recall correctly it inserts at an angle then slides in

Woah I never noticed you do could that! I did the thing where the pull the head rest up and pivot it forward and it just fits behind the folded up bottom seat.
