Yea, I myself pulled the entire console down. I used a tool from this kit:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PLD64ZQ

Shown here, next to the knife:

    20180113_170138.jpg

And I pried the console out of the ceiling. You will think you are gonna break something but you wont. There are 4 prongs that recess into 4 holes, about an inch in on the corners.

Once you have the console down and can see the back of it, there are two little black screw in bulb receptacles. I was confused at first because they don't have wires coming out of the back of them, and instead, the fronts of them, the bulb side, make contact with a circuit board. So, unscrew those and then remove the bulbs. I tried the tape thing and no way was it working for me. I am either too cautious or not tape qualified. I hear you can wrap electrical tape around the jaws of a pair of needle nose and pull the bulbs too. I heard that after the fact or I would have tried it.

Once you have the bulbs out, you insert the plug end of the wire up through the hole where the bulb was, and plug it into the little black plug receptacle. Then push the entire housing up into the console so it snaps into place. Do this step first before screwing the plug receptacle back into the overhead part of the console. Tip! That plug receptacle has to be a certain way! Meaning the LEDs are polarity specific. Turn on your lights and make sure you got the little black receptacle in right. Do not remove everything and unplug the wire and turn that 180 degrees. Just turn the receptacle 180 degrees. Doh! Then once you have tested the lights work, push the entire console back up into the ceiling.

These directions are for those of us that prefer to pull the console only. You can do it as shown in the video and by countless others on this forum.

    sorry, couldn't resist. :D

The Ultimate Map is the Version 2 Map. There is currently only one version of the dome, it is called The Ultimate Dome.

I get confused too, a lot.

Once again thank you for your help, you are truly an asset here at Tw!!Lol at the kit bc ironically I had sent a link for that exact one to my wife from Amazon and told her to order it for me, like a month ago along with a rivet gun kit to install the hood struts and guess what, I'm using a flat head screwdriver still. I handle ebay and she handles the Amazon, its a good balance other than i find I'm the only one ever buying for anyone other than myself.

You're welcome. I am just glad to be able to help others like I have been helped. The community here really is great!

LOL, funny, wives, we gotta love them though.

Those kits can be bought anywhere and honestly, you don't need it. I just had visions of me ripping the entire headliner down with my luck. If there is a Harbor Freight or any auto parts place near you check em for one. I have used mine for other things too besides working on the vehicles. I use it around the house sometimes. It was not useful at all for the rear dome light housing and I wound up using my knife and fingernails. Every man should have a good knife. Or a lot of knives. LOL

WTF dude. I ordered this stuff at 3:00 pm eastern time yesterday. Not here yet. You need to update to the OVTune technology and email us the file so we can just print it ourselves. Just trademark the file. Just look at all the money you will save in shipping costs. Not to mention the beating my mail carrier will get when its not on the truck today. Too much. Time for another xanax.
So I guess I am the only one waiting at the mailbox with a baseball bat.

I ordered a pair to try. Will post pix. Still waiting on amber BD fogs too. That might be an interesting combo at night. Next thing meso will have amber ultimate dome and maps. It will never end.

ordered ultimate dome in white and ultimate maps in red. I plan to set it up so dome comes on automatically when doors open, and red maps activate manually when in truck at night and need some light up front.
