Howdy! fellow Ohioan!

 

For those of you who hand wash your trucks, what's the best thing to dry it with? I have a brand new microfiber drying towel that says it can dry an entire vehicle I think without being wrung out or somethin.

Anyways, just want to be sure it won't leave any swirl marks or scratches on the surface of this gorgeous Inferno paint

 

I use a Chemical Guys drying towel and it works great!

But before I dry with the towel I "pool" the water and use a leaf blower to blow off as much as I can, then dry with the towel.

 

I use an EGO battery leaf blower. Works perfect and doesn’t leave swirl marks or water spots. It’s the best thing I have found.

 

I use a "California Water Blade" on glass, then towel the body. I have used blade for many years including on collector vehicles, The only negative with high pressure blowing is that it forces water in areas that usually you do not want excessive moisture to get into such as between body panels or exacerbates a problem such as third brake light gasket problem.

 

Yeah, the harbor freight one will work just fine. Whatever you do, don't get a drill attached one or a cheap 10 dollar wax spreader from an auto parts store.

You'll need to buy at least a white, orange or yellow pad as well. The link in my sig has instructions on how to get rid of trail pinstriping which is the same as fixing the marring on your paint.

But your clearcoat is fine and all there, just a little marred up probably from you using a microfiber towel on it too aggressively.

 

Leaf blower for the win! I've been using one for a couple of years. Works great and no rubbing your wax off by drying with a towel or chamois.

That’s why I like the EGo blower. It’s had a variable CFM. So you can control the power of the dry.

 

I made the bed bars, they are mounted into the factory rails.
Bike racks are Yakima high roller, and the middle basket is a Yakima load warrior.

 

Damn I had no idea using a leaf blower to dry a vehicle was so popular. I'v actually never heard of that method until now. I do have a shop vac with a blower attachment but the speed is not adjustable. I guess I'll have to maybe give it a try. But I still wanna try using the towel I have, just concerned whether or not it will cause swirls on the surface even tho it is microfiber

No more spots! As a matter of fact here is the one with that spot.



You can still that spot, so it must be a small chip or a flaw in the paint but the dull mark that was there is gone!
