2016 OVTune Tacoma 3.5L Manual Transmission / Engine ECU Reflash

Hope 04B10 RRRRolls out!

 

Hi guys, beautiful morning here in Nova Scotia (that's in Canada), sunny and -7 deg C.

I'm not going to go into too much detail until I've had more seat time.

NOW, REALIZE ONE THING - THE TESTING I DID WAS FOR 1.03B M/T, BUT I'M A 04B10 ECU STEP CHILD. Mat wanted to make sure it worked well for our ECU, because if it did it would also be good for the rest (paraphrasing what he said).

Read that again please. Any review I provide is obviously coming from a 04B10 standpoint.

04B10 guys, we finally have a tune that's complete. It works! In Mat's words, 04B10/11/12 are all the same now including ignition enhancements. That is not to say we've been converted to those versions WRT the underlying ECU code. He did NOT say that.

The dyno pics don't lie. There is more power in the 2000 - 2500rpm range than before. Highway cruising in 6th, you notice that bump immediately.

Mat asked me to get some seat time and let the trims etc get settled in.. so that's what I'm going to do more of now .

Right after I clean up my headliner.... ewwww

Edit: I won't guarantee that the last file I got will be the release version of 1.03B M/T. AS those of you who test for Mat know, sometimes what you get for testing is just one of many files he has ppl play with. In the case of 04B10 though, it's a bit dangerous to put something in the wild that our ECU has not chewed on lol

Yeah no kidding! There are plenty of peeps with that sentiment for real lol.

Anyway, off to do a mileage loop around St. Margaret's bay/Peggy's cove. Hope the tune drops soon for you guys!

@OVTune i started up Tacoma Flash Mgr 1.0 this morning not connected to the truck or anything else and, although there are no linked instructions for use yet [Setup > Download Flash Manager Instructions], i did manage to download something through [Calibration File(s) > Original Files > Manual - Engine > 04B12 ORI] ... it downloaded the following file: update_VD_VIKU_918378520_19_07_2017.txt

so, what's that file? assuming ORI is orginal.

Where did you get the flash mgr 1.0?

 

There a link buried in the threads and one on page 1 of the alpha thread. Not sure if that’s the version we will use or if there will be an updated one.
