I believe I spoke with Annabella on Facebook recently. I suggested looking for PID codes from the second 4 bangers. Do they exist?

Not sure, but I can confirm that OBD Fusion's advanced diagnostics package for the 2.7 does include ATF temps and they both work.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like I can ask what PID it is scanning, it just came with the package and I can add it to a dashboard.

Sooo, sort of a half answer I guess, but the OBD fusion software is really nice so far. Interface can be a little frustrating but the diagnostics it unlocks are top notch and there's a ton of customization. Cost me a total of just under $15 for the app and the advanced package, which gets me a whole hell of a lot more than just the ATF Temps.

It's an in-app purchase for OBD Fusion. So you pay the $3.99 or whatever for the app itself, and then when you are in the app you tap the "settings" icon and there is a menu item "Purchase extras."

Be sure you go into the "vehicle editor" first and fill in all the "year / make / model / option" info once you've done the connection to your truck. I messed this up and it was giving me an error message that my vehicle was not supported, but as soon as I went back and filled out that info (making sure to select "2.7" from the "option" part) everything fell into place nicely.

Is anyone using OBD 2 mini interface? I cant get mine to connect to my Tacoma? Do I need a certain model to work with our truck?
I'm using a Android S7 with Torque pro ($) app, but it cant connect to my truck. worked fine on my old f350 diesel. thanks!

Anyone know if this works on the 4L motor? I have a 2017 4Runner and want to monitor the trans temp when towing my travel trailer.

Anyone used these on a 6MT (manual/stick)? Skimmed through the thread and didn't see mention of it, so I wasn't sure. Wondering if the PIDs are the same or only maybe need the TF pan temp since there is no converter, obviously. Would like to be able to monitor this for future purposes of towing etc.

For gear box oil? I can ask my source if that data is collected by the ECU

Yeah. I would assume even with a MT you'd still want to monitor the transmission temperature while doing heaving loads/towing. Am I thinking about this incorrectly?

You have some type of gear oil in the gear box. I've never had anyone ask about it

Right. Just wondering if overheating is a concern for it when towing etc? And if so, it would be nice to have the ability to monitor the temp via Torque Pro.

With the Torque Pro App on Android, how can I see what gear the truck is currently in?

if you are in "D" then switch it to "S" mode, then the dash will show what gear you are in. do you really need to know what gear you are in while in "D"?

not trying to be rude, but it is kinda redundant if you ask me if you are in "D".

edit: if you are concerned about temps and towing, then you shouldnt be in "D" and be in "S" to negate the torque converter overheating the trans temp.

Not rude at all, appreciate the feedback. I wanted to know the gear while in "D", for monitoring purpose.
