Wish I could get my hands on more Other Half Brewing. I have them in my Rushmore of breweries for sure.


Too weird for me


This is a Belgium Quad from Twin Leaf.


The best one of the night IMO. Trillium is also in my Rushmore. DDH Fort Point is the bomb!!!!


This is a single hopped IPA from Hill Farmstead which is rated as one of the best breweries. This is the only thing I had from them and I thought it was a middle of the road IPA. Was expecting a lot more from them.


We finished the night with this years Maple Bacon Coffee Porter from Funky Buddha. This beer has an amazing flavor but it seemed like it was really thin body wise. If they could brew this as a stout it would be 10x better.

Serpent Bite from Orpheus Brewing. It was a sour so I was not a fan tbh.
Slugfest in a Phone Booth from Big Lick Brewing in Roanoke, VA. One of the owners has been working in town on a contract and we got to know the guy and he brings down quite a bit of their stuff. It was a 8.5% Double IPA.
New England IPA from Samuel Adams. Seemed like they just threw shit together and call it an NEIPA. I did not have high expectations on it.
Drivin N Cryin Straight to Hell from Burnt Hickory in ATL. Just another Mehh beer from them.

 

Have you tried the Sam Adams '76? I was not impressed... i felt like I was drinking vegetables...

 

You didn't like Stille Nacht? I tried it about a month ago and loved it. But it was a Reserva bottle so maybe that was the difference. Either way, it's a unique beer for sure.

 

What did you think though?Personally for a seasonal from Founders i expected better.Not impressed but not overly disappointed.

And noticing Pittsburgh in your avatar write up area have you been to the “Beer Market” downtown Pittsburgh across from PNC Park/Pirates(Federal St./Roberto Clemente Way)?
From as many times as i’ve been there back visiting relatives the place was fantastic for selection and growler fills.Check it out if you haven’t already.

 

I have not. I've never been a huge fan of Sam Adams and do not search them out when I look. Sounds awful lol.

I did not. I'm not a huge fan of Belgian beers so I'm not a good judge of the style.

Afternoon y'all or as my kin in Pennsylvania would say - yuns.

 

Rick how’d the business trip go? You get by Fremont in Seattle?

 

Nope. Big boss calls me Tuesday morning. My boss who was traveling with me was told to catch a plane to Virginia and the Washington part of my trip was postponed. Hit the central/North CA area and came home yesterday. Found an interesting eatery/brewery there called Pete's Restaurant and Brewhouse.

 

Well damn! Pete’s eh? Gonna have to look that up

 

Went to a restaurant called Mason’s for a late lunch/early dinner, had a Karben4 Silk Scorpion Black IPA...

Unfortunately the carbonation must’ve been off because it was flat and not very tasty

Got home and needed to cleanse my pallet with this gem:

 

I like that second cup.

Also a fan of hop bullet.

I’m drinking hop haze right now

 

My new Teku glass I got today in the mail. Only seemed fitting to break it in with a Julius

 

Enjoying a Victory Mighty Things IIPA at the moment...

 

Enjoying this while putting some stuff together for my daughter's birthday party tomorrow. She's turning two.

 

Big Slide Brewery Smoked Porter

I dont think I've ever enjoyed a smoked beer. I got a bunch of smoke flavor in the first few drinks and then it faded. It was OK overall, but I dont think I'd get it again.
