I’ve tried them all in my area even 89 and 91 octance and noticed no difference from the generic Speedway (Marathon oil co) gas so I just run that all the time.

The kicker though is we have summer blend gas and winter blend gas here in Wisconsin. Summer blend of Speedway gas the truck performs nice and average 18-20 mpg. Winter blend gas automatically knocks down the milage the power , smoothness if the engine , throttle response and takes away 4-5 mpg.

I noticed your in canada and i usually use shell or esso(synergy) most guys will also say to try and go to newer or redone gas stations as the tanks are typically alot cleaner etc.

I have a cardlock account with Maui Oil.

I'm not sure which brand it might be.

I use 89 octane non ethanol.

Maui Oil provides the Gasoline that is sold at our local Costco. But Costco does not sell ethanol free fuel here.

Who supplies Costco with the fuel they sell?

I use mostly Costco and occasionally Mobile. All gas for all brands in Chicago comes
from the nearby BP refinery. Extra detergents for Top Tier gas are added at the refinery. You may have purchased contaminated gas from a particular station but more likely the Toyota mechanic is wrong.

+1. If I see them filling gas, I'll come back later or go somewhere else. When they fill, it stirs up all the crap that settles to the bottom of the tanks.

They said the engine had a definite miss so they kept it to "trouble shoot" the miss, when idling and driving every once and awhile it would feel like it was going to stall.

The chief mechanic at the Dealership finally went for a drive with me and said right away, " there is something wrong with this truck".

2 weeks later they come back and say it's the injectors, 2 were really bad, so they replaced all 6 and he noticed a very light haze on the injectors, so came to the conclusion it is the gas, and that Toyota does not warrant against damage caused by fuel ( I get that) but they replaced them as a favour.

Maybe it was one bad fill up, I have not seen any issues reported on TW about the injectors in the 3rd. Gens so maybe it is the gas.

Walmart and every other high volume station with a good price. 87 with 10% ethanol. No issues ever in the many years I have been driving.

Used Costco in my 2005 Tacoma with no problems for 12 years now using in the 2017 for a year. All gas in Atlanta comes from one of only 2 distribution centers so before they put in an additive, in the delivery truck, it is all the same.

Costco has here. My (stock) truck swills more gas than my modified Mustang.

Most fuel in a certain area will come from the same place but it’s the additive packages put into the fuel that make them different and amount of ethanol. BMW has a nice little test plan built into our diagnosis systems that the control unit logs as either low, medium, or high grade gasoline for every fill up the car ever has. When we run it and it mostly reads low and medium grade we ask the customer where they get their gas. Most of the time it’s costco
