2016 OVTune Tacoma 3.5L Manual Transmission / Engine ECU Reflash

The added torque in the 2000-2500 range really made me smile, especially since that's right where we're at on the highway @ 60-75 in 6th.

 

I’d take that a step farther and say I didn’t know this truck could make the power from idle and up that it does now. It was a nice surprise in the snow. The truck has never been so happy to move

I’ve noticed a huge change from 1500+. I’ve broken the tires loose today already more times than I ever have previously. This is the way the truck should be

 

Yeah you can pop it in second pretty early now, no need to wind it up as much. Lol, the exhaust cackle when you lift was kewl too. fun stuff!

 

Yeah I'd be interested in your report on the 87 tune. The test files were all 91, and that's probably what the majority of owners are running right now on the official 1.03B release.

 

Yeah just wow... 1.03 is epic @OVTune Excellent work sir... Just got back from fuckin sending it and damn that was a good time. My hats off to OVTune and I'll be looking for that intake manifold and who knows maybe even the turbo kit down the road.

Not sure what I did or was doing wrong but I got it to work,flash successful. Truck is warming up for a bit then off to do some testing while running errands,will report back.

Wow, now I really can't wait to get my kit. It's in UPS's hands now, so only a few days hopefully as I'm in Utah, not far from cali....

 

I was watching it then got interrupted for power lines down lol good info for sure.

 

Got another 30 miles down, little over 50 total so far. I’ve got some driving to do this week (probably around 500 miles) so I should have a decent idea if there’s any noticeable changes to fuel economy. There’s definitely noticeable changes to power delivery!

 

YUP factory TRD OR. Stock tire size but not stock tire - currently have geolander HT after I blew up a stock tire a while back. Those will be getting swapped out this spring for an AT tire. Probably the falken AT3W

 

04B11, running 93 octane gas. Just loaded 1.03B 87 octane tune per Mat’s recommendation.

Yes yes yes! Totally transformed! Pull from a stop is excellent! Maybe better than the old 4.0. It was actually hard to maintain traction after pulling away in first without spinning. Under heavy throttle had some wheel spin in 2nd too!

This is what I was dreaming of, never thought we’d get this much gain out of software alone. 1.03 was enough to get over the annoyances (I was running the 91 tune), 1.03B 87 is a boost in performance. Very happy. May not load 91 octane tune...it will save me $ at the pump.

 

Just curious, did you have the front diff needle bearing swapped out for the ECGS bushing during the re-gear?
