If you stomp on it in neutral, does it cut out over 3k?

Freshened up the truck today, it's been almost 3 years since it was last detailed, sun and tree branches from trails had beat up the paint pretty well. Headlights are turning yellow again and the truck cabin paint is now fading a bit into pink.

Sanded, polished, and sprayed a layer of clear coat on the headlights, hopefully this will keep the plastic stay clear for a few more years.

Clayed and taped up ready for rotary polish.

All glossy red again, put on a layer of JetSeal and wax on top. :)

Tundra Front disk brakes, Recarro bucket seats, the switchback blinker/running light mod, sound insulation and new speakers. 2023 - New Bilstein 4600s, new center bearing and clutch pack.
December 2015 I bought my first truck: 2003 2.7l 4wd with a manual transmission. Since then new headlights and running lights (here in Spokane we have 16 hours of dark in the winter - good lights are important!) Billsteins, new tires, motor mounts and an oxygen sensor. That last item made the biggest difference in the drive-ability! With only 110K miles on it I expect to drive this for a long time.

So in classic fashion, the problem ended up being entirely user/installation error. The vacuum tube on the back that goes to the FPR and piggyback computers MAP sensor was completely to blame. Unplugged the battery to reset the ECU after I fixed the error and now it pulls super hard through the whole rpm range. No CEL even after 30+ minutes of driving.

I remember i couldn't red line it. Wouldn't go over 4k? or something like that.

nice! Might have to reinspect mine.

Our problems sound real similar. It was ok from idle to like 3ish. I could redline mine at like 4.5 but I would have to baby the hell out of it. I'm also running a bigger pulley than you are.

Edit: CEL back on now lol. No difference in power.

Changed f+r diff fluid, trans and t case fluid, engine oil, rotated the tires and cleaned the maf. Not exciting at all but hey it’s done. Now deciding if I want to tackle cutting up the exhaust and adding in a resonator tonight..

The only part I’m afraid of is snapping stupid exhaust bolts... the cut and weld should be fairly painless

I noticed some oil and sludge on the top of the transfer case, like it was leaking out of the shift lever base, so I decided to take it apart, clean it up and reseal using grey silicone RTV gasket maker.

When I took the transfer case shifter out I found a degraded seat and ordered a new Marlin Crawler blue delrin plastic seat.
    IMG_20180210_161139391.jpg

The original paper gasket had soaked through and looks like it was in bad shape.
    IMG_20180210_161357937.jpg

I scraped the old paper gasket off both from the shifter base and the oil deflector.

The cost of headers and death of installation has kept me from even looking at getting headers... let us know how it goes!

Have new bolts on hand for sure. My exhaust comes apart fairly often so I suppose it might be easier for me. Hopefully yours does too

How do you guys remove the plastic trim around the storage cubbies in ext. cabs? When I removed the carpet from an ext. cab in the junkyard unscrewing it did not do anything so I just pried it off and destroyed the fasteners. The screws are made of plastic and easy to strip.
