2001 tacoma with 33 x 12.50r15

Hello, my first post here. I am a newbie and doesn't know a lot about cars/trucks.
So I have a taco i just bought from Dealer and it is sitting on 33 x 12.50R15 tires and i can't seem to figure out how much lift it has, but one thing i'm sure is that i don't like that it's sitting way too high and i feel like it could go lower with no rubbing. My question is, what is the lowest suspension i could go for with no rub/trimming the fender on the same tire size? What suspension kit do you recommend for daily drive?

 

Looks to me you have 6"-7" of lift. If your tires are 33".

 

If that's a 6-7" i guess i could go a bit lower lift on it maybe a 3"-4". Thanks.

 

You can measure from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fender to figure out how much lift you have. Iirc 20" is stock.
It you're over 26" you might be limited on how far you can drop it, because you most likely have a drop bracket lift.

Edit: looks like you have a spacer+ Body lift. Neither are that desirable.
I'm not sure what would be easier to remove..

 

Picture of front cross member, spindle and rear leaf spring will also get us more infor what type of lift you have, I say may be 2.5-3inch with minimal trim base on rim off-set

 

285/75r16 with 4.5in BS only rub lock to lock on frame no triming
33x12.5r15 with 3in BS, trim that bottom piece, all on 2.5 inch ome lift

 

Look at your front end to verify if you have a drop bracket lift. From the look of it, I doubt it is db lift.

Based off your nerf bar, seemed like body lift instead. If you have a trailer hitch, it should be tuck nicely behind your bumper, if it's hanging way lower then your bumper, more likely your truck have a body lift.

Take more pictures during the day so we can see clearer. Very hard to tell with night pic when everything is hidden in darkness

The wheels does not have a spacer, but it does have a 3" body lift (i measured those white cylinder in between bed and body frame and is exactly 3", and that's a 4x4 wood block i put in between tire and fender and still got about 1" clearance extra, sorry i'm don't know a lot about cars/suspension).

You have a spacer lift. On top of a body lift.

 

oh okay, Now i know that aluminum piece is a backspacer haha. So would it be okay to remove that body lift and spacer, and just have a 3" Toytec lift...would my tires rub?

 

Re rubbing: you'll probably rub if you remove one lift or the other.

But if you're removing a lift, primarily the BL, I'd be worried what else was modified to fit it.

 

So from your pictures, you have a total of about 6 inch lift=3in spacer lift and 3in BL, yes you rub if you take the BL off

got any pics of the rear leafs where they attach to the axle? I'm willing to bet there is a block spacer in there.

 

body lift, front spacers, rear aal, dont see rear block back there

 

well, we couldn't tell at first.

@2001tacomaowner but at least they used an AAL so at least that stays

however, it looks off center, you may want to attach something towards the ends of the AAL to bring them back to center just for any future endeavors. maybe someone can suggest something?
