When you buy the grill the letters are separate in a bag. Just use the rust oleum inferno spray paint

This should be the only style. The flag is meant to go star side to the front if on a vehicle or uniform (ie: patched on shoulders).

Obviously, they go stars in upper left and star side attached to a pole as you know if hung from a pole or as a banner.

Kinda...it seems that way when wearing the uniform but to be more precise, the union should be at the "top and front/forward" position.

When moving forward, the union will look "normal" (with it at the top left) when viewed from the left. When viewed from the right, it will look "reversed" (with the union at the top right).

Correct me if I'm wrong but it wasn't always like this. I believe only when they started GWOT is when flags on the right shoulder were authorized while in garrison. Prior to it was only when deployed. I've been out for a decade almost now so my memory might be hazy, but it was a relatively new thing for all soldiers to wear the flag if they weren't deployed.

Right! I did eventually go back through all the pages! Was just at dinner with the wife and didn't want to get caught posting. LOL

Next time I'm in Washington State the beers are on me! Or you could PM me your address and I'll send you a small token of my appreciation. Just a little something to say thanks properly. That shit was really bugging me.

But is is nice that everyone chipped in. It gave me the confidence to be able to rectify my mistake on my own. I try to be as hands on as possible. Much more satisfying that way.

No worries! Auto detailing used to be a hobby of mine before I sold my last car and had kids so always happy to help.

It worked like magic. 8 bucks! Treated myself to a 3 pack of terry cloth applicators and handle kit. Total with tax was $13.13! Thought it was a bad omen. Later just accepted it as toys for my demon.

So you just buffed it all out by hand then? I like the way our truck looks without that vinyl but I'm afraid of messing something up on mine too if I take it off

Yes, the Army changed it in 2003-ish (when GWOT began in full force) they adopted the digitized camo uniforms. I think it might have always been authorized, but the US Flag was only put on that side by very few/small units. Now, it's basically mandatory for the entire Army, along with all of us who wear the multicam uniform while deployed to certain locations. I have also heard some other reasons for the change, but it's nothing that I ever saw in writing (aka, rumor-mill stuff).

The terrible uniform after the BDU came out around in 2005. We started to see new troops being deployed to Iraq wearing them while we were still wearing DCUs. I got out long before the multicam was authorized (except we wore them in certain areas since I was a part of USASFC).

Try this. I've used flexidip and wasn't happy about how it look on another application. This stuff is great. I used a whole can for my grille, but then again I'm a little OCD so it had to be perfect.
