But I gather you can’t have on/off/on function? ie. 2 separate on modes — one where only say the DRL is on or off and one where the main set of offroad LED’s is on or off?

To be honest, it would come down to the wiring of the light, and whether it enables that option. In order to do that, you would have to run the wire for the DRL function on the light to one switch, and the main light output wires to a different switch. Both would have the option of being flash/strobe, depending on your programming.

I think with the 9100 you can do what you're asking. There's an extra trigger wire with the 9100 that you can program to turn on certain circuits if that wire senses current (I think that's how it works). It's an extra pink wire on the 9100 that isn't on the 8100.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's a lot of information about the 9100 yet, all switchpro's videos and stuff reference the 8100.

That’s kind what I was afraid of - I don’t want to tie up 4 switches to run 2 lights in 2 different on/off modes.

Thanks for the info guys. I’ll likely still end up getting them since I’m more interested in the offroad lighting aspect I was just hoping to be greedy and have the best of both worlds occupying 1 switch only per light.

You would only have to use two switches for both lights, not 4. One switch for the DRL wires both lights, and one switch for the main output of both lights. The LP9 amp draw is well below SP maximum per switch, even when combined. So long as you are okay with both lights coming on at the same time. Make sense?

Also, all my knowledge is based on off the 8200, not the 9100. So the functionality you seek may very well be possible given the additional trigger wires they have allowed.

I thought when I had calculated it out the amp draw for both LP9’s wired together was 18.2 amps and each switch is only rated for 18.

That calculation is correct if running all wires and function to one switch. But, if you split the wires for the DRL and main output to two different switches, the draw is reduced.
DRL: 1.52 amp draw per light x 2 = 3.04 to one switch
Main output: 15.2 amp draw per light x 2 = 15.2 to one switch.

Also, the new 9100 has 4 switches rated at 35amps per switch.

Yeah I’d love to have a 9100 but I’m not going to bother upgrading.....maybe if I run out of switches I’ll get a second one....:spending:

    Glad I could help!:hattip::thumbsup:
I know I had a hard time wrapping my head around it all until I finally got mine installed.
It will all come down to the wiring harness BD provides, but I am sure they have all that accounted for.
Also, I have a trick for getting the unit to dim with the trigger wire if you are in need of that.

For those minds wondering about what the new 9100 has to offer here is the installation and programming guide. Sorry for the low-res the original size was 1.6mb over the file limit.

I have been having intermittent trouble with mine as well, but I have found that you do have to be withing a 10ft, and when first setting it up, the ignition need to be on for programming.
    Hope this helps

From the expedition outfitters mount? I just got mine and the switch pros doesn't fit in the cutout and the wire gets pinched when I try to close the sunglasses holder.

I have the same problem. I am now torn on dremeling a notch in the EE mount or whether I relocate the wire to directly above the panel.

EDIT: Or drill a hole to allow the cable bundle to pass through, but that would make the face of the bracket look funny.

None yet: that's why I'm here: need help

You should not have to dremel the mount. You will just need to dremel the upper part of your console to allow it to open close smoothly.
