How can I tell if my rear brake proportioning valve is correctly adjusted? I'm wondering if I'm breaking with 100% front brakes.

I like to always test it in the dirt after I've adjusted it, don't want them to lock up too soon or too late to avoid tail happy behavior.

So I found a SC locally for $1700 just curious what all I need to look for. I already PM’d Monte to ask but curious for others opinions.

Was having trouble finding the bulb base that takes three wires for a double filament bulb. These were cheap at the truck stop haha, we will see if they last.

@BYJOSHCOOK does he have the throttle linkage bracket too?

Edit: I see it now, looks complete to me

I have no clue what all I need or am looking at. I’ve asked him what he has but it’s late here so. I just don’t want to jump down a rabbit hole with this thing haha

What the hell, those really sell. I just removed mine and thinking i'm not going to put it back. I'll keep it in mind to sell it if I decided i'm not putting it back.

With ABS, I guess I'll need to pull the ABS fuse to test this? I've never really thought about it before, but found myself wondering today.

Surprised you don't have the pulled full time as it is. I guess it sorta works on road, offroad it is unpredictable to say the least. My Land Cruiser disables it as soon as you put it in part time 4WD HI or LOW or turn on a locker.

If you haven't raise it on your axle then there is no way you're using all of your rear brakes or even some of them with as much lift you have.

    Do it.

Clean it, dye/paint it, buy $5 in rubber stops and material to make the cup holder tabs, get the bracket from speedytech and you've just performed my favorite mod on my truck.

    Very hot commodity.

I bought mine for $45 off a member here years ago. Now they're going for around $100. I bought another one for my friend who had a '97 but he never installed it and since sold the truck. So I have a spare one sitting in my parts heap. Can't seem to make myself sell it just in case something happens to the one in my truck.

I've broken about 75% of the bolts I've tried to wrench on my truck. Started pretreating with PB weeks in advance if I need to do anything outside the cab. Always a good time breaking bolts.

I did that when I changed my O2 sensor, sprayed PB Blaster a few time days before. It came out fine. I just wasn’t thinking this time.
