Yea can't wait to do my lift. Looks like nothing has been touched since it left the factory. ADS has a 4 week lead time so I'll start pretreating soon.

What I'd like to do is put in a switch that simulates 4L to the ABS ECU, since that's the only thing that disables ABS. Just never gotten around to it. I don't actually mind ABS on-road.

I do have it raised up, always have since I lifted the back. Mostly I'm wondering if I'm using the back brakes at all, not if I'm using only the rear. :)

Probably worth noting that I don't feel like there's any problem with the brakes, but I figure I've got four of them, so I should make sure they are all braking - esp. with all the weight we carry around.

I'd like to but it's probably a pipe dream. But you have to start collecting parts sometime.

It's interesting that this came up. After doing the brake upgrade, I had expected a little more so wondered if I was getting enough from the rears. So I raised the arm one notch on Jerry's large bracket thing and it definitely added braking power so I suspect prior my rears weren't doing much. Definitely feels a lot better. Especially noticeable on slow speed application.

I agree with Zane's comment, I need to find some dirt/gravel to verify that the rears aren't locking up before the fronts.

well can always add the manual valve. But can kiss your ABS good bye if you do that.

Otherwise not much you can do besides cut the connection to the axle and zip tie the rod all the way up. Even so i think it only does like a 30% max bias? can't remember.

You'll need a bigger shop first..

I have mine raised all the way on Frank. No reason not to have it up all the way with the stock valve really.

I guess Hendrick Toyota didn’t have the FSM last year. I just replaced and put at six.

A lot of the people doing work at the dealers don’t know how to read a manual. Out of all 17 tech we have me and 2 others actually look stuff like this up when doing work

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Just look up some threads about the LSPV and the relocation brackets. The basic idea is with lift you're raising the body and frame off the axle, since the valve is mounted to the frame it thinks you're riding around with a very light load and turns down rear braking power to avoid tail happy behavior that can occur if the rears are too strong for a given weight. But since you're lifted you may be carrying a load but still above stock height so you need to raise the arm accordingly with your lift to avoid that issue.
