Ill just be using the oem 18s with the summer tires that came with it. The winters are blizzaks on oem 17s, the 17s came from craigslist and have some curbrash, but nothing major and they are for winter only. Theres no problems with the winter tires, they just dont have the grip that the 18s with the summer tires have.

    A thing or two...
Ah...gotcha. I forgot that you picked up OEM 17s. No winter tire will have the grip of a summer performance tire.

Hey guys, long time. Well, I haven't been on in awhile due to life stuff. Wrecked my 16 a few weeks ago, 100 feet from where I hit a deer. Slid 300-400 feet down the road (ICE) and then came to a stop on a tree. USAA totaled my truck, and compensated me pretty heavily (500 less than what I paid for it 2 years and 45k miles ago)

So I went and got a 2018 trd off road in quicksand.

I have about 3.5k right now to spend on it. What should I do? I've been thinking a full OME kit, extended steel braided brake lines (front and rear), egs bushing, and some sliders.

This truck will eventually get a rack, with an rtt.

USAA totaled that? Did the rsca deploy the airbags? Only reason i can think to write it off. Glad you are ok.

damn man. glad you are ok though!!!

and damn.... for $3500 your options are limitless....

this is how I personally spend that on the truck:
$1370 full OME w/ Dakar leaf pack from Headstrong
    $650 KBVoodoo Rack
    $700 285/75/16 Falken Wild Peak AT3s
    $100 1.25" hubcentric spacers
$529 (shipped) for Rocky Road SuperSliders (they are having an insane sale right now)
    $135 Chinese TRD Pro grill
    $60 Masterflow MV50 compressor
    -------------
    total budget: $3544

I'm gonna def check out John's Rally Armors in person when he puts them on..

How much did you pay for tint? I'm thinking I'm gonna go 20% all the way around

Yea I was thinking of picking up the Morimoto single catch can (or dual catch can) or the IAG Air Oil Separator... not sure

nice! I'd be curious to see what you paid... do you have to have a separate remote for that? or does it work w/ factory remote? I dont want to end up carrying 2 different remote on my keys haha

yea the cheapest I have found for the RA is $172.99 and the cheapest I've seen for the RokBlokz is $99... I def want to check out your RA flaps when you toss them on...

and yea, ideally, I'll do something similar to what you did for summer / winter set up.... find some 17s or whatever for nice winter tires and then toss the 18s back on for spring / summer / fall

Dang Nick, I have been wondering what happened to you. Sorry to hear about the first truck, but congrats on the new one!

I wouldn't worry about the ECGS bushing until you need it(and that'll be quite a while yet).
In my opinion, lift it, tire it, skid it, then come out & play

thank you. The airbags did not go off. Both windows exploded, the doors folded, the roof collapsed on that side, the bed was out off alignment, the bedside and inner bed was damaged. The undercarriage was damaged when they towed it out, I don't know what it was, but it was a loud pop. When I saw the vehicle last, the inner cab shell was damaged.

So, let me get this straight...you're trading in your truck for a wrx? Selling the truck and buying a wrx? Or have you already done one of these?

I debated on getting a new Tacoma, but the ultimate deciding factor was the $100/ month difference in gas:

Tacoma = $0.15/mile (factoring in 17mpg for when I lift it)
WRX = $0.11/ mile (using EPA estimates for highway)
I drive 519.4 miles per week
    Tacoma: $77.91 / week = $311.64 / month in gas
    WRX: $57.13 / week = $228.52

plus the WRX I'm getting for $32k and the Tacoma would cost about $5k more
