The one I owned a few years back was red. The current one my daughter has is white.

 

Does your daughter know the art of the third pedal, or does that Yaris have a slushbox?

 

My son’s special ed teachers told me of a method they use. Tell him “all done” and start counting down from 5. When you get to 0, turn off the game, put the the toy away or stop him from what activity he is doing. Now I say “all done 5 4 3 2 1 0”. By the time I reach 0, he stops what he is doing. Well maybe 98% of the time.

 

That works...

 

We do give him countdowns either by the timer on our phone or by the clock. He can tell time. Sometimes he complies, sometimes he has a meltdown.

 

Ah yes, the meltdown...

I had plenty of those growing up!

 

Nope. She's an auto. And no....the daughter knows nothing of the 3rd pedal.

 

You should totally teach her!

How many kids do you have again, Bill? I've seen pics of a daughter who looked to be about 8 (the one for whom you built the Rebel X-wing out of LEGOs) and your teenage daughter (just now).

I have 2. 10 and 16.

We don't currently own a vehicle with a manual transmission. I used to be a big believer that everyone should know how to drive one. But honestly....I'd just be pissing in the wind. It's a dying art with no real hope of revival. So trying to teach her would be futile. Besides, she'll never own one. And based on the number of vehicles with manuals these days....and less as time goes by....she'll never encounter one.

 

And I thought you had a son for some reason...
