Boom. Got the 6.5s knocked out today. Didn't take long but they are kinda a headache. Not plug & play like the tweeters and 6.9s in the front. Could be the backwards Oklahoma Best Buys but nobody had the adapters/connectors that have been shared in this thread and the Kickers didn't come with anything. Had to mess with the screw not lining up it and cut some tabs back to get the door back on. Wasn't anything too crazy and they sound perfect. Would highly recommend replacing the door speakers after previously posting that the tweeters were enough! Can't vouch for the others but the Kickers are awesome!!

The Subaru tweeters will not work on a gen 3 JBL audio system. The premium audio w/ the JBL tweeters has a different connector than the Gen 3 stock system.

If you aren't wiring components the taco harness is probably worth the hassle. You take care of all the amp inputs and speaker outputs in one run of wires.

I got the lc7i but returned before I put it in because I read enough to be convinced that trying to get the accubase dialed in was not a fun time.

Going with the jl fix 86. Not wild about the price but it allows you to make eq adjustments on the channels, let's you adjust crossover and also has distance settings. Not trying to be a tuning junkie but with those things I think I can get the 4 Chan and sub to do what I want.

Aaargh, Crutchfield only sent me one set of speaker adapters. They were for the front and were cut for circle speakers, I had to dremmel the hole to fit my 6x9's. I did not get a set of rear speaker mounts. I have the door panel off and want to get these in. Do you guys think I can just tear out the old speaker from the stock mount and put the Kickers in?

So those of you with SR5 with the 6” screen that did this mod, do you think the results were worth it? I know most that have installed the speakers from the Op have upper trim levels, I just don’t want to throw money at the truck if the stock headunit will be underwhelming powering these speakers.

I have an SR5 and I can turn it all the way up with little distortion so the speakers feel matched up well but I am not hitting volume 55 and being blown away. On the highway with the windows down I know I am gonna want more.

Ok, because I have to run it at 50 now to even hear it with the windows down or cracked. And it sounds like shit, so I was considering this upgrade.

    Too much.
In my last truck, I gutted the stock speakers and used them as the adapters. The 2009 tundra has the exact same mounting brackets and cheap ass speakers

Also, when you order from Crutchfield you have to specify what speakers are going where for your specific vehicle in order to get the right adapters and mounts.

I found a post online that says blue is positive and green is negative, can anyone confirm?

Well it's worlds apart from what you have now and it's not that much and a relatively simple install so I'd say it's worth it in that sense. When I get the 4 channel amp I'll see if that was once again worlds apart. I imagine it will be.

I can't compare to the other trims, but my SR5 does not power my jl c1s enough at all. The bass in particular is actually worse than stock (this is with sound deadening as well). You also have to take in to account in this thread, the majority of posters would say it sounds better no matter what. If you change the speakers, they really deserve an amp

This kicker upgrade is merely a gateway mod. If I stay under the cost of a total pre-packaged system (1,500 - 1,800) Even if it's a dollar I feel like I've done my job. Or something.

Oh yeah I hear you there - and I know better which is the bad part. Told myself tweeters only for the truck. Then got fronts. Then got rears. Now have amp and researching subs lol
