He was actually already a Penske driver but they loaned him out to Wood Brothers. It's bittersweet for me because I'm a longtime Wood Brothers fan dating back to Neil Bonnett, but I'm also a Post-Rusty Wallace/Kurt Busch Penske fan. I'm glad to see him still in the Ford camp and with a powerhouse team, but I wish he was still in the #21. Paul Menard does not trash equipment, but he's also not a future superstar. The #21 with Penske affiliation will probably be the best car he's ever had in his Cup career. Maybe when the 43 team folds Wallace can take that 21 seat.

I want to root for Chase because #GeorgiaBoy and I was an Awesome Bill fan growing up but man, we he stumped for Trump I was all :notsure:
I'm hearing that Bill actually forced him to do it. NASCAR is pushing him to get new generation of fans and between that stumping in Valdosta and the Hooters sponsorship, they're sort of hitting themselves in the gut.

Yeah I am still pulling for Chase but it's not like it used to be. Gonna be funny when the 88 starts rolling off wins and we all jumped ship.

Everybody needs to vent man. It's all here to.

As long as you're not pulling for Bill's boy lmao cheers man. Someone has to pull someone or else it would be a dull sport.

THIS, mostly. Austin Dillon is a prime example of the society of the spectacle. AS NASCAR fans I'm sure y'all are into mid-century French Situationist philosophy, right? Basically, all style, no substance.

"Debord traces the development of a modern society in which authentic social life has been replaced with its representation: "All that once was directly lived has become mere representation." Debord argues that the history of social life can be understood as "the decline of being into having, and having into merely appearing." This condition, according to Debord, is the "historical moment at which the commodity completes its colonization of social life."

The spectacle is the inverted image of society in which relations between commodities have supplanted relations between people, in which "passive identification with the spectacle supplants genuine activity". "The spectacle is not a collection of images," Debord writes, "rather, it is a social relationship between people that is mediated by images."

I really hope to see the 12, 43, 88, and 42 rack up wins this season. The 2 and 32 to a lesser degree.

As far as Penske drivers went, I liked him. Still do. He doesn't mince words. Never really a fan of Joey, but my kid likes him. Now that Blaney is fulltime at Penske, he's my #1 Penske guy.

Brad has really grown up. He is poised to take the leader role and will get a couple more championships.

Hell yeah man. Everybody can get behind Bubba. He drives a Chevy, he plays drums, he's laid back and funny. He's from the DEEP south. Gotta love Bubba. He's gonna piss of the status quo of Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, and Denny Hamlin so much if/when they go on a tear.

I'm glad this thread is finally alive. Also, the 4, 11, and 18 can get stuffed all season as far as I'm concerned.

Anybody else love how Jr. showed up just commanded them to start engines unshaven with messy hair in a 30 year old t-shirt like "hang on, I gotta go do this thing real quick."
