Welcome , are you looking for suggestions on wheels or on what size tire? Just a heads up 5100 will not help you clear bigger tires, 265s fit stock and 285 require trimming on some more than others but it's all minor ( was a bigger deal I guess till I started cutting)

So true most will tell you 285s will require the CMC but mine clears just fine just very minor trimming on the fender flares and inner fenders. Even at full bump and lock I barely touch the CM but will be doing the CMC because dirty fives!

There’s two different kinds of rubbing, Nubbing on a flat smooth surface, and straight gouging stuff.

I think my plan is to go 5100s all around with OME 885s up front and AAL in the back (if necessary). I figured since I'm doing this I might as well suck it up and go with the 285s and trim accordingly. Im also looking for a miracle to get the TRD 4runner wheels at a discount price (model #PTR20-35110-GR)

I just want a better ride up the mountain trails. I occasionally run into ruts and rocks, but not often. You think it'll be a decent set up?

Might as well go with 285, although I'm not sure on the 4runner wheels backspace but you will need a 4.5ish B.S. if you want to go 285, if those are really what you want than look into the FN pro wheels(I think that's what they call them), they are the pro wheel replica but they come with 4.5 bs, Dustin is awesome to work with. 885 and bilstien with 1.5 aal is a great low budget set up. And what i am still running on the front of my truck till I upgrade again. Let me know if you need anymore info. Just pm me so we don't clutter this thread.

    And hey Paul @NABeast :proposetoast:

Figured I'd chime in on my last day with a silver 2nd gen with some photos from a few weeks ago. IMG_4665.jpgIMG_4667.jpgIMG_1804.jpg

Fiberglass rear fenders meant color match paint again or vinyl wrap the whole truck and cover up all the scratches I've acquired over the years. So vinyl it is and she'll be a new color hopefully by the end of the day. Almost stripped down and ready to start. IMG_1918.jpg

These tires are great so far. Just went on the highway, no steering wheel shake like some say. No power loss noticed maybe a hair of gas mileage. Very quiet not much louder than my 245 road tires. Very pleased so far.

Well got about 2/3 done before hitting failure with the bedsides. Too curvy and wasted the material on the one that's "done" need to redo. But going to seek more professional advice/ help on finishing up. But loving the color!
