Tray Mountain report

Anybody been up there recently? I’ll be in Helen most of next week and want to go there a couple of days.

 

Was gonna head up in the morning. I'll report back.

Awesome . We went and saw ruby falls then came through Cherokee national forest and later through chatahoochee national forest over here to helen for the night . Gonna head out soon to Tray. I'll let you know if its impssable do to rain/treefall but I doubt it.

 

There was a good bit of running water coming across and down the trail . No real problems. Came all the way through starting in helen and coming out chimney whatever road .

 

Stock tires?

 

285/75/r16 General grabber x3.I think the only necessity would be a lift and maybe a spotter.

 

We had @marinemonkey go up it at the beginning of the year with only sliders and a front skid. Stock 265's 4wd and AT's. Made it up fine without any spotting

 

I wonder if he was there this last weekend . Saw a truck that looked like that on sunday.

 

If it's raining during, you'll have fun.

My buddy has about 25% tread mtz and was struggling in 1 or 2 spots

 

He now has gold Ray10s so it's kinda hard to miss him now. But I don't think he was as I was hanging out with him last night

No I wasn’t but I might go this weekend to see what rubs on the new setup

 

I did it on my stock tires and a front skid at one time. But it was dry.
Doesn't matter anyways, new tires ordered

 

What are you going to? I have ome heavy duty nitrochargers with heavy duty dakars but am also running a ton of weight. I still rubbed only the flare on the driver front for a sec only enough to talk but not to show . 4.5 bs with 285/75/16 .

 

I am running 285/70/17 with no lift haha

 

I'm sure you'll be fine . Maybe a rub or two .

 

Have fox 2.5 coils up front, 2.0 and medium Dakar's in the rear. I'm guessing I'll be alright from here on out.

Did you end up going?

 

I went yesterday. Up Chimney mountain and then back down the tray mountain side. The chimney side has some major mud holes and washes. A lot worse than the last time I was up here. Didn’t have any trouble tho. Locked the rear a couple of times just to minimize wheel spin. Saw a big flock of turkeys near the top.
