Depending on the drive train you have. Im a 6 cyl. The 4cyl had different pumps.
    Use the vin check.
    6cyl shaft 4431206010 its $16.35 from toyotapartsestore.com

Take a picture of the front face of your pump. I dissasembled mine v6 2004 and it uses the p.s o ring kit for the 95-04 2/4 wd 4 cyl. Not the V6, the v6 kit didnt have the proper O rings.

When you dissasemble it remove the fluid drive blades and flip them so the fresh edge is out.

Found a great deal on a set of Gen3 rims and tires. Think it looks pretty good. 268K and still rolling...

Picked it up now to buy the rubber tabs. And try to find a tan paint close to the same as my interior.

Well I’m done. Changed the radiator, radiator cap, thermostat, all hoses, removed and cleaned out the overflow reservoir and put new Toyota Long Life Fluid in at a 50/50 mixture with distilled water.

    9071AF1A-33DE-4A73-9083-21AFDC4A6F00.jpg
What prompted this was my truck consistently running at >200F.
    FBA3AB82-20AB-4E87-A9A8-F6865D84A65C.jpg
After I broke loose 2 of the 3 studs trying to remove the thermostat housing I confirmed my suspicions that Toyota put the thermostat in at 12:00 rather than 6:00 last year when they did my water pump and timing belt. I replaced and threaded the studs back in. Ripped out and replaced everything else, put it back together and fired it up.
    A9B2EBA3-D320-4987-9AC4-2DC657DC1210.jpg
Ran it hard for 20 minutes down the highway after warmed up. Topped out at 190F! Stayed relatively steady at 186F. Made my day.

Also, I bought a sticker on eBay for my new radiator cap. They don’t allow you to live that TRD radiator cap lifestyle with the 0.9 cap so I improvised. Yep I’m a dork.
    D88CFFA4-18BE-4EA2-98B0-626FF7A4E3E2.jpg
This took way longer than it should’ve and in all likelihood replacing the thermostat was all that was truly needed but hey, I now have no concerns at all with my cooling system as all components are <13 months old at this point. Now it’s time for a beer.

Funny brakes have popped up as I have been curious about that as well with the raised bpv bracket etc. Dirt testing makes sense n I proved that yesterday...the rears work fine... wich led me to look my next concern is my ebrake...what have you guys done with that line. It is not long enough to allow me full articulation. It needs to be addressed. Use the same bpv overload sensor bracket for that? Or remove the driver side harness on the axle?

    I found this
    http://www.parksoffroad.com/tacomamods/rearbrakelinerelocation/rblrelocation.htm

Just wanted to see what you guys did/recommend with your ebrake line.

What does it matter for the thermostat which way it goes?

The parks off-road way should tide you over well, plenty long enough for what springs in the stock position can flex to.

It's not the thermostat, it's the jiggle valve that has to be installed in the proper orientation.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe the jiggle valve allows air bubbles/pockets to either burp or somehow not disrupt the flow of coolant to the thermostat. If the jiggle valve is installed in the wrong direction air can get trapped on the engine side and make your engine temps higher or overheat.

Someone else who knows what they're talking about please chime in

I don’t think they’re silicone, box doesn’t mention it. Just something about aramid reinforcement. Less expensive than OEM for all these hoses though:

Service manual states to install the thermostat with the jiggle valve downward. As for what happens when you don't, I'm not sure.

I had to cut about an inch off of two of the three hoses to the heater core. The rest fit perfect.
