Thanks so I guess that's the first question I'm asking the mechanic if he knows what to do when I go to have my timing belt water pump head gaskets and other small things replaced. I guess if he doesn't know that or open a fsm I need to find a new mechanic. It's so hard finding a reputable mechanic in the part of cali I'm in. Bigger thing im worried about is having a mechanic over tighten the valve covers. If I had the time and have done valve covers and a timing belt before I'd do it on my own.

So my climate control doesn't work or do anything. Checked all the fuses and nothing is out of the ordinary.

When you press the AC a button, it lights up and that's all the climate system does. The blower doesn't turn on in any mode. The cable for the vent selector knob is broken and is misaligned - but it does still turn and I can hear the cable pulling something.

Anything I should check? I'm dropping by the yard tomorrow for some trim pieces if I have to buy anything climate related now would be a good time.

 

Check all the plugs behind the glovebox, there is also a huge blue ground back there too that goes to the side of the passenger footwell. I can take some pics but you have another good example in your driveway.

 

Good idea - I had to pull the dash to paint it anyway.

Do I have to use Vinyl dye for these trim pieces or can I just use normal spray paint?

 

If it moves I'd use dye, if it is stationary paint will be fine

 

That's what I was thinking. That reminds me - I ended up driving over to Harbor Freight and buying a steering wheel Puller, took a good five seconds to pop it off. I hammered the hell out of a wheel and I destroyed and marred it beyond recognition - that thing just did not want to come off. Had to find another truck with a good wheel.

 

That's really weird all of mine have come off with less than 30 seconds of flat handed hitting haha.

I just installed mine. Just need to adjust the level and hook up the halos to a switch in cab.

 

Might have just not been lucky. I tried your method hitting it at the 12, 6, 9, and 3 positions but nothing happened.

I guess it also was an issue that the steering column wasn't connected to anything. It was just flopping around every which way.

That truck I got the carpet from was a '99 PreRunner v6 TRD - first thing I did was checked if the axle was still there.

It wasn't. First world problems...

Just finished rebuilding my Camburg UCAs. New uniballs and new poly bushing kt from Camburg.

 

Nice! Squeaks go away?

 

Ha! Couldn't believe how loose the old uniballs were. I can make them rattle by shaking them.
