Sorry if I missed something- I haven't been through all 60 thread pages, but is every opening part sealed off when closed? Mainly trying to figure out if dirt will find its way into it over long, dusty trips.

It's as sealed as a regular topper would be. Meaning some dust will get in around the tailgate, but in general it stays pretty clean inside.

Sweet. I want one of these so bad, not sure it would happen for a couple years unfortunately though. Can't wait for the updated pics to come!

I actually have in mind to try to find a small portable AC to rig up in the truck when/if I end up with a GFC. I have a small generator, it would be plenty for a 5000BTU portable unit... just want to find a SMALL one... I'll also want to be able to take it out and use a propane furnace for heat. I'm a pussy when it comes to extreme temperatures in either direction. And by "extreme" I mean lower than 60F and higher than 90F. lol

This is pretty much wha i had going on as well with my kbvoodoo rack. Like that it kept the RTT out of the airstream.

ON a side note regarding fuel economy and the GFC/RTT, when I put my JB up onto of the ALUCAB, the fuel economy actually never changed from having it on a kbvoodoo rack (midheight) so it sat flush with the cab of my truck. TO be honest, since i drove that day to go get the JB, my fuel mileage has been shit, I figured once I took off the RTT and just an with the ALUCAB I would have some fuel economy back, nope, its pretty much the exact same as it was. I've also had two other canopies on the truck and never had this bad of fuel mileage.

I think what is currently killing me is the damn Cooper STT Pro tyres, I have on the truck, they are an e rated tyre and heavy as hell. I may need to switch back to the KO2's or Duratracs, to get some cab quietness(currently working on sound deadening the truck, as much as possible). Probably wouldn't hurt to go back to c rated either to drop some unsprung weight.

Interested to see how the flat face of the GFC will affect the fuel economy. The JB RTT are fairly aerodynamic. Think I read that Wiley was getting 14mpg, which is pretty ashtonishing to be honest. Granted, you eat a doughnut and you lose a mpg with these trucks.

    Mostly stuff I built.
So far my renogy 100w solar panel has held up well as a deflector. Has taken a few limb, rock and bird strikes and is still holding strong.

CHECK THIS OUT!!! To be honest it's about 2 years overdue for launch... but when it finally it does it should be perfect, My last build I was debating about installing one of these in an aluminum windoor on my cap.

Looks interesting! Compact size... I wonder what the back looks like... I know the condenser needs to vent outside, I'm kinda wondering if one could mount it vertically, and run a tube or pipe to an outlet. I'll check it out!

I doubt it... If I were you I'd but a "spare" rear or side panel for your GFC and reinforce and cut a hole to fit. Problem solved. only cost you the cost of one panel and some time. AC units generally don't work in the improper orientation... Something about refrigeration cycles, and condensing. HAHA.

Yeah, it seems that it should be easy enough to get replacement panels. Maybe get one to cut an appropriate hole in, then fabricate some manner of cover when it's not in use. Rig up something that will work with a propex furnace as well. Swap the units out depending on weather.

We just might! We've got a lot of product ideas in the pipeline and expect healthy sales when the campers start hitting the streets :)

Well good luck. I actually put in my vacation day requests last night (i work midnights in a powerhouse so it’s a 24/7/365 operation) for Overland Expo East dates. Mid-November. I plan on Repp’ing the sh*t out of my new GFC down there in NC, providing it performs as well as i am hoping in August for my two week trip. I think you’ve got a really good thing going and i wish you all the best. American ingenuity and manufacturing is just what this country needs! Good work GFC! Enjoy your well deserved break!

Indeed. We looked into outsourcing at first but made the determination we have to do it in-house to maintain quality control and be able to innovate some of the processes and design elements of the soft goods. We're outsourcing the fitted sheets sets, but anything related to the tent or to the planned soft interior concept we're working on will be designed and manufactured by us. We're really fortunate that Bozeman has a lot of soft-goods talent so we have access to folks who have worked for Patagonia, GoRuck, Yeti, Mystery Ranch, Simms, etc.

Any chance we can get a close up of the side panel hinges? I’m with @DoorDing those riveted areas look sweet.
