    Sluggo has color matched fenders again! Been saving these babies since the 35s to put on when the other fenders got too effed up. Thought i could get away with driving around town before cutting them....nope. i can hardly turn before the wheels eat the back of the fender. Im gonna wait till tuesday or wed and have my gf do it it with me cuz she likes that kinda shit. What a great bonding experience, hacking up a body panel together





    also strange issue since i put the truck together, when i finished putting everything together and started the truck up it fired right up...then i put the grille and fenders on and it takes sooooo many cranks to get the truck to turn over. almost killed the battery the second time, and the first time i had it hooked up to my friends car. Any idea what would cause it to crank but not turn over? I only replaced the belts and rad and added the trans cooler on this iteration

    sorry, firing. Its cranks/turns but takes waaaayyy longer to fire than should. I was going to do the plugs so ill check those. I found it weird that after sitting for 1.5 weeks it fired right up then i put all the stuff back on and it almost kills the battery starting. What grounds are where that I should check?

    If the battery to frame or starter to frame were not grounded properly wouldn’t it just not crank or turn all the lights on at all?

    Did you mess with the wiring near the igniter and maf? If you unplug the intake air temp sensor does it start?

    Not really? I stuffed some hoses up there and out of the way when I was doing the rad so something could have been bumped I suppose, but I didn’t specifically take that stuff off. I’ll try it with and without the air temp sensor tonight. What does that effect and prevent?

    The IAT on our trucks is known to fail and can make starting a bitch cause the ECU either ends up thinking it was hot as balls out or colder than the Arctic circle.

    Interesting! So if I disconnect it the sensor doesent send bogus info to the comp? Thanks for the tip! Anything else?

    I feel like there is less expensive gear in running compared to other sports I can think of. Let’s junp to the most expensive lol!! Snowmobiling? Flying? Boat? I mean obv trucks are expensive ha

    yeah but i mean every serious runner i knows has like 50 pairs of running shoes. Then all the clothes..watches for gps tracking and heart monitoring...goes on and on.

    Most expensive hobby. Hell idk. I don't think any of us are in the financial realm of the most expensive hobbies :laugh:

    for use, the trucks no doubt. Actually my audio gear can easily give the trucks a run for the money.

    My truck is dirt cheap compared to what people spend on sledding around here.

    New powder sleds are $15k plus, then you bolt a turbo to it, then you have the least reliable vehicle possible and it up fixing it all the time or getting a new one every season or two.

    Also, pretty sure it's a requirement to have some stupid brodozer with at least 4 lightbars and color changing halos to participate. Drove over Rabbit Ears Pass Saturday morning after lots of fresh snow, every parking lot was full and at least half of the trucks fit this description.

    Is anyone running anything besides OEM cv axles? Currently Napa/Cardone:$80 a piece, Toyota factory remans $243 a piece, OEM $400 a piece. Hard to justify spending $800 when it will likely get driven less than 5000 miles a year for the rest of its life.

    I am running OEM or OEM reman's.

    CVJ is a great way to go as you can get high angle boots from them and they are OEM Remans.

    Cheap ones work though if you dont do anything crazy. Work just fine and free to replace when the boots die.
