Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

People let others drive their truck? No one touches my truck!

I'm surprised you never tried the 91 tunes of the prior releases as it might have helped some given the extra ponies - that said I'm holding out for you as it does seem folks are really happy w/ the tune. But I also feel no matter what, the tune may not completely overcome some of the mechanical limitations in our little V6 trucks - hope that's not the case for you b/c I am now loving my truck and have gone from "I'll drive it until it makes sense to sell it $-wise" to "this is the truck I thought I was buying to last a lifetime..."

 

I let the fiancée drive mine every now and then. And in return, she lets me drive the 17 4runner

 

I really want a 4runner....for developments

 

I have 4 local folks wanting their 5th gens tuned.

 

An when I buy my 5th gen I'll want it done also lol.

 

I bet someone will offer one to keep as long as you need and in return free tune

 

I tried to get the wife to get a 4Runner, but she likes something with a smaller wheelbase that drives more like a golf cart, so she ended up with a CR-V instead. She's been happy with it and since I like something bigger she doesn't often have to worry about me driving it Some day I'll justify having both, but for now the Taco is far more useful to us than another SUV would be. I love my buddies '18 Pro T4R though... and my truck these days doesn't drive all that different, luckily

 

Man I was in the same boat. I was desperately trying to convince my wife to go 4Runner... she went RX350. So disappointed.

 

Same for me, my wife went with an RX 450h. I have to say though, the hybrid is nice and way more responsive than the taco was with the stock tune.

 

Yeah the RX350 supposedly has the same engine as my Tacoma, but it feels night and day different. I'm not saying it's perfect, but it feels responsive and powerful. I have a hard time switching to driving it from my Tacoma. I tend to accelerate way too quickly.

 

She wanted something bigger than the car she was driving. I couldn’t help but convince her to get a T4R.

I have a pro grill for the 4runner I’m gonna sneak on it tomorrow

I wish, couldnt afford that.
Still managed to convince my wife to get one, got a black 03 limited with the v8. Love that Runner.

Threw the stock off road rims on it when I upgraded. It's a great "Mummer" now.

if you're interested in any 4Runner stuff you can connect your tacoma kit to it and get me the CAL / ECU ID ^_^.

I plan to develop a tune for the newest version 4Runner this year. N/A and the magnusson SC

 

@OVTune, with the updates you provided yesterday, Can you give us a good guesstimate of when you plan to finish up the AT tune and release it? I’m fine with waiting to an extent. I just don’t wanna stock this thread anymore than I have to. Are you looking at a day? Week? Month?

Even Apple gives us two weeks notice when it releases a product lol.
