    I'd be willing to spend the money to have it all done right on something like my cruiser if it were to ever need work, but the Taco is a game of loss haha, as long as the cab is watertight and the suspension works well it's game on. I'm just gonna mess up the body again anyway.

    Can you get a picture of your UCA at rest and at full droop with the Icons?, I'm trying to figure out if I need UCAs with sway-a-ways, no rush tho i'm still waiting on my rebuild kit for them :turtleride:

    Yeah, I've got to pull them out tonight to take em for a rebuild so I'll get a picture when it is jacked up. Uniball or SPC UCAs are still a good idea but you can get by without them for a while if you make sure nothing binds and you can still align it.

    Huge reason why I bought that truck is to practice everything. Body work, engine work, rebuilding, etc. I don't really care if I mess something up - I'm not losing much anyway.

    I plan on doing TC UCAs just waiting for funds to rebuild, I'm going to pick up 5.29s for my 1st gen tonight :anonymous: so that's hurting the wallet too

    ALL OF THEM!...Then some more.
    well hopefully they have the right tool.

    Id do the retainer rigs yourself. If you have a good long piece of 2'' tubing that's all you need to smack the retainer rings down with. Put a little grease on them then install the axle shaft and spin it then remove to see where the seal is wearing on the retainer ring. Shops constantly get this wrong.

    Here it is at rest, not sure how much lift but I'd guess around 2.25".

    Where did you find SAW coilovers? Are they the new AFe ones, 2.0" or 2.5"?

    Not very much then. I'm guessing you needn't worry but easy enough to check them.

    2 24mm wrenches (or a socket and wrench) to lift the arm off the spindle. Then you can check for play in the uniball. My new ones were so tight, I could not move them by hand, Had to put something like to long bolt or an extension through the center to move the center ball. As I mentioned, the old ones were a different story. Very easy to move around. So loose they would rattle if I shook them. Hope this helps.

    sweet, older ones I got them on here $150, they need a full rebuild $200 for that kit, not just seals and they needed new main shafts $100x2 so i'll be in them $550 plus my labor, but they will be good as new :thumbsup:

    This. Even though you don't have ABS I would be interested to see if you have 2 retainer rings still, as most still have the ABS housings even if you don't have ABS. If you don't have 2 retainer rings I don't think it matters where the ring is because it should be all the way at the bottom holding the bearing on IIRC. Mine had 2 rings, and since I perm disabled my abs I never put my tone ring back on. The shop set the ring at the wrong spot so I had them cut it off and I put the second ring on myself with a PVC pipe.
