My ex's family, and a few other people I've met over the years like to blow money on dirt cars. Probably where I've heard the name.
After you've heard about it for 3 years and don't really give a shit (due to the ex and her shit), it goes in one ear and out the other, honestly. Tony Boggs is another name, from Ohio, though. She has 2 uncles that were heavy into the sport as well, last name Ferguson.

Local shop quoted $40 to weld it in

 

Got Magna flow on mine. Helped with the throttle response and even a hair on mpg with it and the intake.

 

I was afraid the straight-through will be raspy at mid-throttle, but all the sound clips I've heard of those types on 4 bangers, make a really nice sound across the board.
If it helps MPG and skinny response, even better.

This is an "I'm vain and want my truck to sound cool" mod

 

I was afraid of the same thing. Idk about the 4 banger, but mine sounds when I get slap the skinny to the floor but just normal driving it has a nice very quite purr.


I do think I possibly have a manifold exhaust leak though. Have a ticking noise when the truck is cold. I know the Tacoma is notorious for the ticking but it seems to sound a little different.

 

Mine chatters like a frozen mountain man in real winter temps on start up. No exhaust leak sounds, though.

You should just go ahead with header back. For, ya know, piece of mine.

Currently, you have an exhaust manifold, not a "header".
I'm suggesting replace your entire system, starting with the header, ending at the tail pipe beyond the muff

 

just drill a hole in the pipe before the muffler
