OK, world's dumbest question... Do you do both AALs at the same time or one side at a time?

Also, how in the hell are you supposed to be able to keep the OL with so little slack in the brake lines???

No necessarily, the problem here is the needle bearing (the OEM part) it’s prone to fail wether you have a lift or not. So you can change it to the ECGS bushing with the different design but serves the same purpose and it’s far superior than the original part.

So it’s not like you are replacing one part with another part that are designed exactly the same

So ECGS is the brand, but it is essentially the OE needle bearing being changed out to an aftermarket needle bearing?
Or is it not considered a needle bearing but does the exact same thing?

I did most of it. Fronts I kinda screwed up at first but that wasn't so bad. Working on video though.

    Thanks

You do it 1 side at a time.

It wasn't easy to put in the OL as it's a heavy leaf. It took a lot of wiggling and cursing. I was at it an hour on the driver's side!

Doing it at 11pm outside in the cold wasn't helping.

It basically eliminates the needles (which are the weak points in the oem parts). Not all vehicles use needle bearing, but for some reason Toyota doesn’t care

The original part is a needle bearing the replacement part is a bushing, they serve the same purpose for the front axle. ECGS is the brand that everyone is buying.

I've been at the driver side for over 2 hours now. Also doing it on the floor of a cold ass garage. Thinking of disconnecting the back of the leaf spring to get the room I need to get the center pin in. Any downside to doing that other than the weight of it? Anyone tried that?

My friend took 9 hours to install AAL. It took me an hour to figure out that side after grinding. 30 minutes on passenger since it drops more.

Does this need to be replaced on both side of the diff (two bearings)? Sounds like once you have the front suspension apart, just gotta pop out the axle to replace this. Might as well while I'm in there..

Could someone put together a list of any other things that I might want to replace/upgrade when I have install done? Ex. Rear shock bushings, bump stops, needle bearing, etc... what else?

Interested in things that might be worth doing now, just because it's a good time to do it with everything being taken apart anyway.

Finally. A guy with a cap doing this. Looks great. I got a new leaf pack going in so the look of your truck has me excited. You also mentioned hoping it doesn't settle. Either end you are concerned about? Also any vibes?

Seriously, I had no intention of touching anything but tires and not until my OEM's died. Apparently I have the self control of a small child.

Shit, I'm like $1300 in on a "why not?" moment. I'm not sure I'm done yet with it either...

Any downside whatsoever of the ecgs version of the bearing?
