It's one thing to have a pricing guidline on the main product like the kayak but another to be super strict on the factory accessories and upgrades so they end up having to be pretty much MSRP. Glock is a really good example of a good pricing levels. They are strict about pricing on their handguns but then all the factory accessories, replacement parts, etc are all pretty much a free for all and you price base on what your mark up is and what you purchased the item for.

Hobie has the ability to do that because of their name/brand. If a dealer fucks up on any pricing, Hobie will pull their whole product line. They have a demand...

One thing about Hobie is they do push customers to buy locally.

Headed to South Core Banks, Cape Lookout for those who don't know May 23-28 2018 out of Davis NC, Davis NC. Camping the hole time there and fishing. North Core Banks is were I went last year in May and August, which is Portsmouth Island NC. Awesome fishing and great beaches. ATV's and side by sides are welcome there also. Both islands have about 17-19 miles of beach to fish from, but this will be my first trip to Cape Lookout.

I think you are confusing the actual Portsmouth Island with the area on Cape Lookout that also bears the same name that is more touristy and has cabins as well as camp grounds. Portsmouth Island is a round island in between Cape Lookout and Ocracoke, splitting the Ocracoke inlet. Portsmouth is only accessible from a ferry those other areas you can access other ways.

That actually is pretty badass that it fit perfectly there.
Here in NC the Yakattack flag with light counts I think that it is USCG approved for the distance required for an anchor light.

This is what I am talking about and have

Both Cape Lookout and Portsmouth Island are only accessable by ferry for your 4x4. I've been to Portsmouth Island twice last summer and now I'm going to Cape Lookout this May, which is south of Portsmouth. Both have cabins there to rent, just Portsmouth Cabins have power, and the cabins on Cape Lookout don't, you will need a generator for those cabins. The Ferry services call them North and South Core Banks. Portsmouth Ferry runs out of Atlantic NC and the Cape Lookout Ferry runs out of Davis NC. Getting ready to invest in a Roof Top Tent in the next month for our next trip, the cabins are pretty booked up in Portsmouth after they open rentals January 10th. Fair price, but with the tent I can go most weekends that they have a spot on the ferry.

How does a group buy work? Never done that, I'm looking at the 4-5 man Tuff Stuff with the annex for 1799. My kids love fishing and I want as much space as possible. And btw Portsmouth Island isn't round. Harkers Island to the west of Cape Lookout is. Portsmouth Island runs south from Ocracoke Inlet south, the old town/village is at the inlet and has not had inhabitants since 1972. It's pretty cool also.

The group buy is already active and open for ordering. They ship as soon as you pay so you won’t be having to wait. It’s @Blackout14 group buy so he’ll get you going but here’s the link...
