Definately not about looking cool for me. More about potential use of deck space. As far as the elbow goes, if I were to go that route I would install it much, much higher for exactly the reason you suggested. But all that said, no drain needed for me here. Water is negligible and virtually nonexistent in my bed even after high pressure laser washes so for me it's a moot point.
As far as application goes we just agree to disagree. It's all good. In the end every mod we do is all about making your Taco your own.

    Mod on! :mudding:

Guys with Tonneau covers...I tried installing my bakflip this morning, need to take the cap rail (from the cab end) off. Stripped two of the bolts by hand and stopped trying. Did anyone else run into this? How did you get them out without stripping the bolts?

Yer right on that one. No disagreement on my part. You know, I've not really seen a valid reason for my drain tubes yet. Same car wash situations too.

Got my first rain last night and noticed some leakage in the front corners. Everything else was great. Any ideas on what could be causing the leaks up there?

Hey guys, new member but long time lurker. I bought my 2017 TRD Pro last March and promised wife I wouldn’t do anything till I paid it off. Well, that time came so I’ve been going a little crazy these past few days! Got new FN 16” wheels with General Grabber X3s (265 75 16) previously Falken Wildpeak AT3. Took the stock Rigid fogs out and put in BD Squadron Sports, also got the Squadron Pro for my ditch lights with SDHQ mounts. Switching out my Demello hybrid sliders for my new CBI DOM bolt ons that just came in (never liked the idea of drilling the frame for them). Installed the Icon Stage 6 Suspension front and rear with Billet Delta Joint UCAs, more pics of that later. And lastly, I ordered a new sound system from Crutchfield as the stock one was never good enough and the upgraded JBL wasn’t gonna satisfy either.. so I didn’t get it. Sorry for the long post, whew!

You might try diluting milk with some water to make the path of the leak a little more visible, then pour some on the suspected area. After that a little black silicone sealant my solve the problem. Flex Seal is what I use for water associated problems. Great stuff!
Water in crevices can take a long time to dry up or evaporate so make sure it's completely dry before using sealant.
Honestly though I doubt any cover is "completely" waterproof with maybe the exception of an ARE or Lund type cap or cover.
If there's a way for water to get somewhere it will get there. Good luck.

Just bought a pressure washer and tried it yesterday... WHY have I been washing my car the old fashioned way for so long.??? Best $100 I ever spent.

Question for ya! do you use the "approved" pressure wash soap, or just car soap? and assuming you have the same little jug attachment for the soap, what ration of soap to water are you putting in it?

    thanks.

Did you use the properly sized torx bit? I can't imagine how you stripped a torx by hand. Impressive strength. Mine popped right off with a torx bit and ratchet.

I use this quick method when I don't have time for hand washing:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DKC6IY6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Then I fill it completely, undiluted with this:

Yup, I put it in and used a hand powered screw-driver. They are on realllll tight. I just sprayed them with some bolt loosener.

EDIT: The bit is fine, the star on the bolt is what got ruined.
